I watched The Maltese Falcon a couple of weeks ago and The Treasure of Sierra Madre last night. Both sheer classics. 10/10
All this Mayhem: The tragic story of two skateboarding brothers' rise and fall. Well worth a watch. 7/10
Jurassic World: Even Chris Pratt can't salvage this turkey. The same tropes rolled out in all the previous versions with the same villains, kids and heroes. Appalling, I watched in the hope it would get better, it got worse. 3/10 Inside out: Pixar's latest flick left me completely uninterested for the first 20 minutes or so... but then turned into another of their brilliantly imagined tales. Not as funny as their other movies, but a clever plot with great characters makes up for it. Not their best work but still cracking stuff. 8/10
What really pissed me off about that film was the fact that they kept losing their mobile signal, on what I can only assume was the most technologically advanced island ever rendered in CGI. Just ****in' plot laziness. Where the **** can't you get a phone signal these days?
Them aussie ****s were mental There's a good documentary about Chris Cole as well can't mind what it's called though.
The whole thing is a shambles, Militarising 4 raptors ffs??? Aye cos like they would pure run riot in Iraq and Syria, jesus that's ****ing so weak a trope it should be put down. As for the finale, why exactly did the big ****ing dinosaur decide to save everyone not it species to kill another giant dinosaur and whn the bird released it how the **** was she outrunning it?
Triple 9 Damn what a disappointment. This film has an excellent cast. It should have been so much better. It's a convoluted, barely believable thriller about bent cops and bank robberies. With likes of Woody Harrelson, Casey Afleck, Anthony Mackie, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kate Winslet I was expecting a lot more. They are badly let down by a teabag like plot and a very ropey script. The casting is a bit suss as well to be fare. Winslet as a Nasty Russians mafiosa is a stretch and Woody is particularly plank like playing a drug addled FBI man. Aaron Paul from Breaking bad and Norman Reedus of Walking dead fame play brothers but I think they just chucked those two in because they are hot on TV at the mo. As I said, very disappointing. 5/10
Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice No plot (that I could grasp) no humour, nothing much happens basically and when something does it's not worth the wait. Shockingly bad and one of the biggest turkeys I've ever had the misfortune of seeing, so bad it makes Jurassic World look like Citizen Kane. At times I actually rolled my eyes and shook my head. Avoid at all costs. 0/10 And I checked, its not just me: "First of all, let’s dispense with the notion that Warner Brothers’ film adaptations of DC comics are grim and serious affairs; their Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has more solid belly laughs than the last three Marvel movies combined. Now, to be clear, none of them are intentional, but when it comes to a pompous, stillborn, joyless slog like this, we have to take our entertainment where we can get it. It’s relentlessly stupid, sluggishly executed, tedious claptrap, and I’m sure it’ll make a bajillion dollars. But I’d like to think that at least some of that giant audience will look at this deadening swill, as I did, and marvel at how much energy and money it takes to put an audience to sleep. Midway through, between bouts of standing in his newsroom barking headlines, editor Perry White (Laurence Fishburne) tells his disguised Superman, “Nobody cares about Clark Kent taking on the Bat Man.” If only". Captain America: Civil War Great fun. Exciting set pieces, tension and humour with bags of action, and a few surprises thrown in, exactly as a superhero movie should be. 8/10
The sad part is Ben Affleck is not a bad Batman at all, its just that the movie reeks. Not his fault they had an imbecile directing and a script that's not fit for purpose.
Who To Invade Next Latest Michael Moore documentary ... Not as heavy handed as his usual stuff. Not a bad watch. 6.5/10.
