Would a non-league Amateur future be better for CAFC?

NJ could well be the last throw of the dice for them. They've given him a long contract, and power over recruitment. They won't go back to giving Scott that power, and paying off NJ, if he doesn't get us out of this league in 2 seasons, would be too much. So I'm guessing that they need to see significant progress this season and promotion the next.

There has been some talk earlier in the thread of AFC Charlton as a second Club, existing parallel to the present one - as with AFC United of Manchester.

I did not intend to promote that scenario, and my initial post was not meant to suggest that a second Club should be created now, or at any time while the current one still exists. In my view AFC Charlton (if it should ever be needed) should not come into existence until the current Club closes down and would be gone forever.
Because of all the legal crap over who owns this and who has rights to that, such a scenario may one day come to pass.

Another possibility is that CAFC may continue to decline and slide down the football pyramid until it has to give up its professional status.
From the point of view of simply enjoying going out of a weekend to enjoy a game of football, I'm not sure that future would be as awful as some might think.
Granted we would all like to see Charlton competing at the highest level it can.
But our long term future may be to come full circle, and return to the grass roots.

………..and then a quick sale at profit, otherwise we’ll be straight back down the next season

A very fair point in the final paragraph, Ridiculous and his stats should swing him the way to slate the club.
But of course, he is a total Wum.

I still think we will improve on last Seasons low position. But I will hang fire on my prediction of where we finish until I see what squad we have for next Season.
I don’t think we will slide into non League. I just think that is unduly pessimistic. I don’t think watching non league football is enjoyable. I watched enough of Welling United to know that.
I just think that some of the scenarios that you have mentioned Lardy are just not going to happen.
