Barney Roy wasnt my selection and I didnt back him, think I said a few days ago he would probably have his day but the weather changed my opinion on that.

Wouldnt have mentioned backing the winner either until Stick asked about it <ok>

I couldnt have backed Churchill in a million years but he was a bit of an unknown at the trip so you couldnt be sure and he did run well.

Been telling you all season Ulysses was a historic animal anyway.

Said after the King George people were going to have to accept that hes the best older horse in Europe.

    Seems some did not listen.

Expected Cliffs of Moher to run a lot better than that especially after Cracksman in the previous race played a big compliment to that Derby form some have been crabbing....Knowing OBrien it's a stepping stone to some autumn target where he'll leave that run well behind in the same way Dylan Thomas, Highland Reel etc did and Found winning the Arc having got beat here at this meeting last year too.

Even Moore told you Churchill was a notch above COM. I made the case for Cracksman being the best horse in the Derby and it looks like that will turn out to be the case.

Dont think he put anyone away, he certainly didnt come out and say one was a notch above like he did in this race, think he actually said he wouldnt be surprised if any of the 3 won.

Ha Ha Ha. Just got back fro Aintree hospital (Fazakerley) after CAT and MRI scans. ( Naughties been found in the larynx).
Went for a few beers with the Mrs, told her timeless art was in with a chance. For some reason I opened up my BetFred account, and tried to put a ton on at 100/30 for a place. They knocked me back, and only accepted £75.
Ok, no probs, tried to get the other £25 on 2 minutes late...no joy....so....feck it...
£25 on the beak......feck you Betfred traders!!!!
Happpy as a pig in ploppy!!!

I wasn't suprised to see him win today, to be honest it was anyone's race on the form book. He ran well, but I'm still not at all impressed with any of the 3yos he beat.

1 thing that today has proved, and I did suggest this to you after the KG is that Ulyssess is better on soft ground than any other surface.

He struggled at Royal Ascot, and just scraped home at Sandown in firmer conditions, yet today he's shown his best form at 10 furlongs.

I know he got trounced by Enable, but I think she is just a freakishly good fillie.

It's ashame you didn't trust your judgement or rate Ulysses highly enough to not believe he could beat Barney Roy again before this race <laugh>

As I said though before the race, I couldn't have been confident on any result. Fair play to Ulysses for a good performance though.

I think they should go for the Champion Stakes at Ascot, rather than the BC race, as I'm not convinced he'll like the conditions or the track at the BC. I think he'd be much more suited by a soft ground 10 furlongs at Ascot.

I done Mirage Dancer & Ulysses, two singles and a double.

That is reality regardless of what you or beefy want to say. I was leaning towards Barney Roy before the rain, didnt expect there to be much between them on the Eclipse where Barney Roy looked to be getting back up at the death and with an extra half furlong here, but in the end I realised that Ulysses King George run was probably the best form and it showed he handled soft ground. Didnt have a penny on anything else in the race.
