And in the biggest expansion of the World Service for many years, the BBC has announced 6 more African languages will be covered and broadcast. Well done Beeb. At least one part of Britain is still reaching outward.
Just replying to my own thread here, to bring relevance to what I'm going to say. A reporter has just been asking witnesses on the US West Coast who have just watched the Solar totality and the return of the sunlight, for their reactions. And they really took me back to 1999, when I saw the one in Cornwall. It really is The Greatest Show On Earth, or projected onto the earth, if you want to be picky. There are people who are speechless, some close to tears, some utterly joyous, some totally humbled. These people who are being interviewed are generally surprising themselves at their reactions. It does take you by massive surprise. You can be as rational as a scientist, but for a split-second it blows your mind. Solar Totality [2017] is totally recommended, at least once in a lifetime. But don't watch this one on a screen. Witness it yourself.
Interesting phenomenon going on [as if it wasn't interesting enough]. The Sun and Moon are together passing over parts of America where the weather isn't the best. In one current part in the Mid-West there have been thunderstorms building up because of the growing heat of the day. So the Moon gets in front of the Sun and the thunderstorms just fade away in seconds because the heat drops out of the air immediately. They're wondering whether the thunderstorms will regenerate just as quickly as the eclipse passes by their area.
Spoiler: Game of Thrones Another brilliant episode. Arya is a bad ass! The White Walkers have got a Dragon!
Another great episode, indeed, Tom. And sets it up nicely for next week. Just a pity we'll then have another wait!
Spoiler: GoT Arya is a bit of dick though. Loves the game of truth/lies and yet doesn't believe Sansa was forced to right the letter. Was a bit disappointed we didn't lose any main characters other than Thoros. Also a bit weird Benjen came out of nowhere and then died instantly.
Spoiler: GoT I really like Arya. Sansa was a complete bitch to her back in season 1 so can't really blame her for giving it back.
I rather get the impression that they're rushing it. Too much to get in and only a few more episodes. Shame they couldn't have stretched it out a bit longer and made it more believable.
Funny, that's just the impression I got with the just finished series of Poldark. Absolutely ripping through some incidents that are played out a lot better in the books. Still good though.
Went to Doctor and said, "I'm struggling with my hearing" He said, "What are the symptoms? "I replied that little yellow family on Sky one.
Not sure if I relish an invitation to your house because I'm "hot and sweaty". Is there something you need to tell me? Vin
Nice street in Kilkenny Well he was stalking outside your house that time..., just saying! "Dave and Vin sitting in a tree...."
