Well blow me down, I didn't know Hank wrote I Saw The Light. He released the classic in 1948. "Luke the Drifter" got a lot done in his 29 years of life.

As Rocky goes to his death, the priest asks him to die like a coward. He wants Rocky to show the kids that there's no glamour in crime. Rocky initially refuses, but in the end he puts it on the line for the Angels with Dirty faces. The screaming in the lead up to his electrocution is a harrowing piece of movie making. Cagney at his best.
In the 1950s polio swept through many places in the world, and Jamaica suffered as much as anywhere. Many paid a terrible price. Three children, Cecil "Skelly Spence, Lascelle "Wiss" Bulgin and Albert "Apple" Craig, met and in time would go on to become one of the most influential reggae groups in their time. Craig would later leave the group. The clip below sees Skelly Spence at his best.
