Apparently Man City have accepted loan deals from us and Celtic for Patrick Roberts. Up to him to choose.
Not sure if discussed here so far ... but was taking to a guy the other day with credible and reasonable links to many footballing facets, he seemed to have been told that in the same way Vvd was lined up for us from Celtic, the plan had been for vvd to go to Chelsea with Nathan Ake and a shed load of money going the other way to us. However, that has recently gone tits up as Ake wanted to repay the faith shown in him by Bournemouth, so he went there instead. The delay currently is trying to resurrect a deal with someone else.... so the story goes.. I'm not speculating right or wrong or giving it more credence than other rumours... just thought I'd put it in the mix....
Champions League might be fun. Course, they could go out to Rosenberg, then that little piece of bait is over.
Funnily enough, I would have happily taken Nathan Ake and a shedload of money for VVD. By shedload, I mean £45-50M. There's no way he's going for cheap, if at all, in the next 12 months, in my book. You could dangle Alderweireld our way and I'd still want a shedload of money. If someone wants VVD let's squeeze them dry.
Agreed on all fronts, personally, I've never thought that vvd was a liverhampton type of player.... despite the mutual f&ck up between Virgil and Klopp, I can see vvd as a Chelsea or even an arsenal player but defo not Man City or Liverpool....
Not sure if this has been posted on any other thread - a list of fees clubs receive from shirt sponsors. Presume ours may be higher now Virgin are also doing sleeve sponsorship. See link if attachment doesn't show: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ague-shirt-sponsorship-deals-hit-jackpot.html
This is a good reminder to those who keep saying that the playing field is more level with the high TV money. This is just shirt sponsorship and we are a long way behind the big boys. The difference in other money generated will be similar too. For example, I think United get 75m a season from the shirt manufacturer.
Yep - that will put them on £120m (roughly) per season just from Adidas and Chevrolet, where in comparison with Under Armour and Virgin, I would guess we'd be somewhere between £10-£20m per season?
Saints are targeting Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham Hotspur to replace Virgil Van Dijk, If we need a song:-
Well, strictly speaking, as a percentage, it is slightly more level. But it is still remarkably uneven. If it was a football pitch [playing field] the match would be called off.
I think Gibson from Boro would be worth a look rather than Wimmer (or as well as) Hopefully spare cash from VVD to get our other two requirements (defensive midfielder & goalscoring attacking midfielder)
