Am I the only one who doesn't see the fuss about this guy yet?

He's had ONE season, in the French league I'll add, sure he seems talented but is he really worth almost doubling the current results record.

I've almost had enough, football has gone ****ing insane.

Agreed! and if I'm honest, I'd love this to go pop! The numbers are just friggin ridiculous & will it seems, continue to increase until Sky, the controlling influence (or Sky's customers to be more accurate) go elsewhere. Surely the TV package has peaked & a reduction will start a partial restriction? and then maybe accelerate to a downward spiral?

 

That figure is ridiculous for a player all on potential (like the sterling transfer).

However he is the real thing. Not an ego, fast, skillful, lethal finisher, technically brilliant, strong and a team player.

Everytime i watched him he was excellent and that included the champions leageue!

I may not like Levy, but he does know how to run a football club:

"Some of the activity that is going on at the moment is just impossible for it to be sustainable.

I agree, but I don't think I'll ever get over £30m for Sissoko.

 

Funny thing is due to how this windows going so far, they are likely to get all that money back should they sell him. Madness

 

Just read Levy's comments, and I have to say I'm glad a big football person has come out and said it. The utter madness that has taken a grip this summer, will lead to a quicker downfall. Things are spiraling out of control at such a rate, that its the TV deal that will push clubs into the red (BT already reassessing their contracts), and when it happens it won't be one or two, it will be a whole clutch.

 

He's only saying that to prepare Spurs fans for minimal money being spent and players to leave in next couple of years due to paying on the stadium.

Don't think the TV money will drop so much to put clubs in the red imo.

 

Might like not like him, but he knows how to run a football club. He does not need to get his excuses in, he poached a manager that will save him millions.
As for the red......its a matter of time.......

I agree the domestic tv deal will start to level out/drop soon but I'm not so sure about the overseas one.

It'd have to be a hell of a drop in one go to seriously put clubs in trouble though.
