Good Morning Everyone Borussia Mönchengladbach came from behind to share the spoils against a relatively strong Leeds side yesterday lunch time. Ayling opened the scoring for the White after just 90 seconds, but the Germans came back equally as quick in the second half. According to reports Leeds were very unlucky not to win the game by some margin as the woodwork came to the Germans rescue on several occasions. It turned out that the team we faced yesterday was Borussia's second string. Their first team were playing a few hours later against Nice. TC sent a message out yesterday to let Leeds fans know that we were not done in the transfer market...
Morning all, shame it was the second string, even so I'd imagine they would be as strong as many Championship teams and they would have played a nice passing the ball game (well I'd imagine so). Two weeks to go, most of the players in place, hopefully the new boss is starting to build a picture of his best 11
G'Day ..... Most were 1st Team squad and the 1st team coach was at the Leeds match not the Nice match so I'm now 100% sure it was the second team but either way I agree probably as strong as a Championship team, and better that others, so a good test.
Morning all. It was rumoured a few weeks back that the rads transfer budget was 20m for this summer. Looks like that figure was spot on and pretty impressive. Probably more than we’ve spent over last decade. At leader, if some of the signings don’t work out, and it’s inevitable some won’t, they will have a resale value so Rad hasn’t wasted his dosh. Really like the way club is conducting business, no leaks etc
Evening Eric, Yes a good test, but this it the team that played against Nice. BorussiaVerified account@borussia 15h15 hours ago More Die #Fohlenelf gegen @ogcnice: Sippel – Jantschke, Oxford, Vestergaard, Wendt – Kramer, Cuisance – Traoré, Hazard – Simakala, Raffael I recognise Wendt, Traore, Hazard (Eden's brother), Vestergaard and Raffael. Don't know much about their team but suspect most of the fist team played v Nice
Morning all. Which ever German team it was, they were going to be decent side. So we can weigh our performance against that. We put in a decent performance, & it'll be interesting to see how Pennington & Jansson get on when they eventually start together. For one thing, it would mean having a RF & LF combination, suggesting a good balance. We also look as though we have a lot of options in attack. All in all, I think we are a good bet for top 6, & a fair bet for top 2
One of those players was a new £12m signing according to Popey, so no L1 side, but we played them off the park in the first half without increasing the lead. Did ok in the 2nd half up to when we threw on massive changes. Great performance & result
Yeah all the rough fighters played in the fist team, or have they just got small hands !?. I'll have a think about the response that we played a second rate team and get back to you. I really don't like the aspect of putting our team down, there are enough of the Millwall Tawts to do that
Was the battle of the big spenders so as we played all our 3m+ players against them. Great to be in the big spending league again
morning ... very good performance, key for me was how positive Leeds were on the ball going forward ... defensively very good as well, worked hard to restrict BMG to long shots ... BMGs team was a split of first team/reserves, still a good outfit with top players like Herrmann and Florian Mayer, as well as their new £12m signing on the pitch ... when you consider our starting eleven was also a split, then you have to be impressed with how the team played Tommy expects more signings to arrive, and they will be the right ones, not panic buys ... things are looking up Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Good result for you your keeper only let in 1 sure that will change though when the real stuff begins and normal service resumes Has he kept a clean sheet yet ?
Must be so exciting for you to be coming here every day to see the exciting happenings at Leeds, better than the non-league scene and shopping at poundland ay
