Murphywatch; Dove Mountain 4.55 Leicester Jazz Legend 5.30 Leicester What chance of Froome and Landa putting the sword through the heart of the rest of the field in Le Tour today. I think they might look to put the race to bed today and with Landa less than a minute behind Uran and Bardet we could very easily be looking at a Sky 1-2 in the general classification by the end of the day. Sky are by far the strongest team. Landa can be backed at 50/1 EW 1-2 @ 1/3 odds and that is not as daft as it may look!
Barring accidents it should be pretty straightforward for Froome. Those who were trying to challenge for the yellow jersey have run out of steam (no surprise - ****ing brutal stage yesterday)
Stick, my old love, as they say round my way – ‘the 5/1 winner of a bad race pays the same as the 5/1 winner of a good race’. But, yes, not the greatest day’s action when it comes to the old racing. One thing that did make me chortle uncontrollably though, team, was the name of a 2YO set to debut soon – Honey Gg. What a lovely name for a filly by the way. Wonderfully monikered creature an amalgamation if you like between the worlds of crooning and racing – the most talented singer of her generation in ‘Broken’ Britain and horses!
Chepstow 400 Showmethewaytoavarilo looks the best bet today the jockey booking looks very assertive and I managed to get 8s earlier there is 7s available but generally 6s which still looks way to big.
The 1:35 at Killarney looks a nice little heat with Joseph's Le Richebourg taking on a couple of Willie's. Not a heat to be betting on with such a short jolly, but I can't help feeling Royal Hawk will go well here.
Having rode those climbs in the alps I can confirm that they are long and at the speed those guys go , brutal , I did them with full touring gear ; so took hours rather than the minutes they ride them ; hats off to the toughest event on earth !! Froome will be just happy to not lose any time to uran, he'll want to save some energy for the time trial sat , so it's up to the south American to attacknow rather than mark wheels : got to say it's been a great race ; froome and his team would be worthy winners, I like the guy ; humble , honest and obviously respected , unlike some more ' popular ' ego driven previous winners !!!
I agree with Rudey. They'll just maintain the advantage and extend the lead during the time trial on Saturday. Strong rumours Landa will be leaving team Sky later this year to lead his own team.
Can't buy into Team Sky after the Wiggins fiasco - they are clearly as pure as the driven slush !! I've ridden 2. Stages of the tour as a tourist and take my hat off to all those that compete at the elite level for 3 weeks - but it's still not a clean sport ... and froome isn't English in my books .. but I agree Sky are the strongest team ...
In this next race at Hamilton, HOCHFELD may win well and by about 10 lengths but at the price I'm going to go for the outsider BE PERFECT. Gets the distance so at 18/1 a small win bet bet but also taken 9/2 on Skybet to place 1st or 2nd.
Stars over the Sea Backed like defeat out of the question against a ratings good thing and then gets a dream start against the entire field in Ireland. I'm not saying something may be a tad dodgy there of course nudge nudge wink wink etc etc
That's one problem attached with this Murphy stable now stick. Many runners will go off false prices and in the long run will ultimately cost those backing him by being forced to take 9/4 on what should be a 33/1 shot. It's good now and may hold for a while but I'm talking 2 year down the line perhaps.
