If were still at the stage of playing two different teams in each half, dont expect to learn much though Id say
No they won't - Their 1st team are playing Nice tonight (their old managers team) Your game doesn't even get a mention on their website https://www.borussia.de/english/team/news/borussia-news.html
Think I read somewhere that Borussia Monchengladbach have another friendly against Nice and they will split their squad across the 2 matches. Not sure if the other match is today but that's how it sounds.
Tommy Christianson, is he gamble? From what we know he was picked out of a group of coaches but smashed it at the interview stage because he presented a picture of Monks squad. Where Monk could have improved and which players he thought were used in the wrong way. He gave a precise of each player and what he thought. The Management team at the club are all seasoned football people covering all bases of top flight football, these are the same people who have gone out and brought in new players. So far these players are proving to be an improvement on what we had last season, and cover positions where we fell down. These will be the management teams players with input from Tommy. So have the management team chosen the right coach? I think yes and I expect that the club had a budget for players and coach and have done their best with that budget “I want to make something better than it was last season,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post. “If I could be satisfied with seventh place, or eighth or ninth I would not be the coach of Leeds. That is the truth.”
Thanks for clarifying that TC. It's pre season for all clubs involved so everyone is working towards the same goal. Which is getting their squads up to speed for the first competitive games of the new season. Makes you wonder why they bother having a close season with all the curfuffle it causes !
Hope you're right doc, at the moment we don't know if the coach is any good... smashing the interview is one thing, getting the best out of a group of players is another. Are the new players better? Again we'll have to wait and see whether they are better players for the championship. They're clearly orta's signings not tommy's... but hopefully in the areas and types of player that tommy has identified as being required. Loads of unknowns, could go either way. Makes it interesting though... let's see how the dude shapes up against the munching flapjacks.
It's where I got the attachement from i.e. their website https://www.borussia.de/english/home.html Go away fake person
They likely are as many cost large chunks of cash, unlike our normal signings. You are spot on re the coach and until the season gets up and running, we wont know. My worry is if the first few results dont work out, as usual fans will be heaping the pressure on him and will he be able to handle it. This is his biggest project ever
take it the photo you are referencing is Silvestri's injury, not sure how you can see an internal injury on a photo but what do I know Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
It was the photo he sent out himself as the reason he couldn't play, lipstick related I think it was. Anyway gone now and I don't really care how he gets on in truth.
Fan pressure is what I was alluding to earlier Eire. Lat season we were distinctly lacklustre in the first home game and quickly followed that up 4 days later with another less than perfect display against a very good Fulham side. By the second half of that game the moans and groans had started every time a pass was misplaced or a half chance not taken. This resulted in Wood cupping his ear to the Kop after equalising with a spectacular overhead kick. That turned things around for Wood and he never looked back. Sacko however became the next target for those that are the most preponderant and vocal amongst our support. This criticism of his end product grew so much over the season that I'm amazed he's actually signed a permanent deal. His stats and the teams results when he started were pretty damn impressive last season and I sincerely hope he is now given the full and unrelenting support he both needs and deserves to reach his potential. It's a very fine line as a supporter and I understand frustrations when things are not going well as much as anyone. That's why we have a Breakfast Debate everyday where we can voice opinions and get things off our chests. Once at the stadium I'd much prefer that the MOT spirit was taken more literally and when a player makes a mistake that supporters realise that this is the time he needs the fans backing, rather than when he's just scored a worldy.
Their line-up 19: Fabian Johnson 22: Laslo Benes 23: Jonas Hoffman 30: Nico Elvedi 32: Vincenzo Griffo 35: Moritz Nicholas 39: Krame Yeboah Is this their 3rd or 4th team FFS
