    Good Morning Everyone,

According to Phil Hay, Matthew Pennington is flying off to Austria to meet up with his new team mates...

    Here he goes now......

please log in to view this image

The 22 year old has penned a season long loan. It will be interesting to find out whether we have a right to buy clause at the end of this term.

Pennington has been loaned out in previous seasons, more recently to Walsall who had a special arrangement, known as the Walsall pact. <laugh>

Who will be next to join?

How many players light are we until the first game of the season?

If rumours are to be believed, Rob Green could soon be on his way!!! The 37 year old may have started last season slowly, but got better as the season progressed helping us to pick up valuable points. It is believed that Felix is going to be number one choice this term, and Leeds know that the former England man does not want to sit on the bench!

    Thoughts?

Staying with goalkeepers, Bailey Farrell-Peacock has had his contract terminated by Oldham, and is back at Elland Road.

He reports that LS11 is very quiet at the moment...

It's reported that TC (YEP) has said that Pennington is in Austria. I still am hoping the deal for Bartley can be done, unfortunately he scored against Philadelphia and set up their second. W/C 24th July they are back in the UK

The goal keepers and coach looked happy yesterday considering No1 and No12 have been told to leave

Greene could be gone soon as well as Silvestri which is a weird thing after thinking keepers was done and dusted. Silvestri got 90 minutes the other night, wonder why as stories coming out of Italy is that he would be signing for Seria A club Verona. Greene was then spoken about twice last night from Moose from Talk Sport. Moose knows him well from West Ham days and it was Moose who told us Greene was moving to Leeds days before anyone else knew. So did we cancel BPF loan arrangement, remember only last week we got him to sign a new contract for 3 years, so we rate him for the future, so why would Oldham not rate him?

Great business bringing in Pennington as he is supposed to be another Woodgate Rolls Royce type player. Rio reckons hes the best of the future CHs around and we know that Everton rate him highly and wont sell him.

Morning all.Is it just me that thinks this pre season is lasting a feckin eternity. Seems like ages since we last played a competitive game. Has all the hallmarks of a cracking pre season though, fingers crossed <ok>

At the end of the season I thought we were a few additions short of going up or contending. Now I haven't got a clue how we will fair! Seems a lot of change and only a few survivors from last years campaign. It's exciting that's for sure.

    Morning all <ok>

You seem to have dismantled a team that narrowly missed out on top6 and started again.
According to most on here, your defence were the shining light from last season, but Taylor and Bartley have gone, and it seems Green will follow.
Wood seemed to improve loads, but was that down to Monk?
He's had 1 great season before when he was on loan with us and then went to Leicester, but did not follow it up the next 2 seasons.

More spelling and grammar corrections for you. The above should be spelt 'Millwall will be relegated'

morning ... Pennington deal done, excellent signing for us and will improve the squad ... as I understand it he is out of contract at the end of the season, so may have an opportunity to get him on a permanent but for a fee due to his age

really pleased with the direction the club is moving in, very professional ... not too fussed about the keeper rumours, happy to trust our leadership as they seem to have a clear plan on building the club in a positive way

green wanted to leave when felix was signed. No-one at fault here.. club want competition, green wants guaranteed first team football.

Re BPF, he didn't have a contract with oldham to cancel! Nor did he fail a trial. Oldham were worried about lack of experience with a kid as number 1 for a season, not ability. Not much the lad can do about that.

Bartley I will give you , I think he was a big influence on us last year, and whether Pennington and whoever we may use to partner with Jansson are able to do half as well, we will just have to wait and see.

Taylor played 2 more games than Berardi, and Barardi played most of the second half of the season at left back, so I don't think Taylor will be missed that much, and in addition we do have an experienced player in Anita, who can play anywhere in defence, so I don't think our first team back 4 are that much worse off than last season. The German goalkeeper again we will wait and see, but with over 70 games in the top flight German league, I don't think he is as bad as some folk have tried to make out based on the last 3 games he played for Bremen.

As for Wood for no logical reason, I don't like him, however he scored goals last season, so I can't take that away from him. Season prior to last he scored 13 goals, which is actually 2 more than he scored in what you describe as his best ever season (prior to last season) when on loan with yourselves, and he then followed that with 27 goals, so maybe his maturity is now starting to show.

Will he score as many this year, I think not, but not due to his ability, I just think the goals will be spread around the team more so, as opposed to relying upon just one goalscorer, which we have done for a fair few years.

I think you're right Milky, article suggests the boss chose not to go ahead with the loan deal.

think this article is a bit over the top, makes it sound as if BPF's future is at risk and as if he was going to be first choice at Oldham ... wherever he goes on loan, he is still young so will probably be on the bench as first team cover, but he will be in the first team setup ... at Leeds he will be in the U23s ... it would be great if he got a loan deal, may well have to drop down to Conference level to get lots of game time though

You must be keeping those a secret then, because the only one's you have officially announced were loaned out by their previous parent clubs as they were deemed not good enough <whistle>
