“When relegation comes, there’s a lot that comes with it,” said Curtis Davies. “Who’s going to stay and who’s going to go. After last summer and what happened with building our squad and knowing how many players the club was going to lose this summer, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be part of that mess again".
Mike, if you're reading, can you arrange for the station to play anything by Dickie Valentine for my Aunty Beryl's birthday?
“There’s no bad blood at all. I’m thankful for everything they did for me. As much as people might say things about the chairman, I’ve got on with him from day one. He didnt mean this bit obviously or did he??
Well, thank f"@k he left. A decent player in the past who knew he would struggle in the coming season, which ever players we sign! THe problem is, regardless of what EA has done or does, is that our team was not good enough, didn't have the heart or desire, unlike teams like Burnley. If we can get money like we did for .
Happy that he's gone, never going to be the player he was for us and guess he needs a new challenge. The problem is, regardless of EA, is that the team was never good enough, lacked desire, and ultimately paid the price of relegation. Average premier league players look very good in a poor team, i.e. Maguire, Robertson and to get the money we have got is great business. Just look at 'SnogAss', he's been found out, and will never be as good as he thinks he is. Tymon is 'potentially' a great player, but again a player who thinks he's too good for Hull City. Money Talks, I'm sure his rewards would have come with playing for Us, but like many youngsters who have come through the ranks at Hull City, they achieve very little or move onto greater things , but Stoke Ffs, that is just money talking!!
Relegation came partly because Davies just isn't that good. Tymon just never got the opportunities so I am ok with him.
Can't really understand anyone criticising Tymon. Tons more money, established PL club and away from the **** storm that is Hull City. We support the players we don't own them. What would you have done at 18? What would you encourage your 18 year old son to do?
Think Davies says it all .. having gone through the shambles that preceded last season the clown at the helm has not learned .. you can't blame Tymon and others for jumping ship .. whether there was a crap contact on offer or not. As I said in an earlier post Sloots has a he'll of a job on his hands .. only hampered by the petulant one.
If it's true he was offered a £500 a week pro contract, he had no choice but to move on. He's a very promising player an £500 a week is an insult.
Stay at City. Same as if my lad was an 18 year old at Fulham or leeds or Newcastle. Stay in the supportive surroundings you're used to then get a big money move at 21. With three seasons of football experience and life experience under your belt.
Exactly. I'm not criticising Tymon for the situation, it's just a lack of ambition going to Stoke, who may well be a Premier league team at the moment, but are much the same as us in being unfashionable! He is acheiving a hell of a lot at the moment, recognition by bigger teams, international call ups etc. He still needs to develop, as we could see when playing against spurs. I know so many lads from City who have moved on, only to falter, and end up being journeymen. It's a tough call, but where ever he goes I wish him good luck.
I've just done 75 miles on my bike (fantastic weather forecast from BBC again today... not!!!!... ******* wind) and am slightly frazzled. But before I became totally knackered and my brain started to wander, myself and my ride pals decided that under the circumstances and what we expect to happen re outgoings, 6th and above this coming season and Slut wants knighting, mid table and he's done as well as could be expected, and above the bottom 4 well!!!!... does anyone else agree that all these supposed loans are going to be prima donna my contract is with Chelsea and I'm not used to 3 games in a week, especially on a toes numbing night in December types, especially when some uncultured centre back gives me a whack after 5 minutes.
am I the only one who loved Davies and think he's been harshly criticised? He was a monster at the back until the ship started rocking, new manager, inconsistent selections etc... Big loss for me. In other news, what the **** is going on with this club? Sick of Ehab trying to make it seem like all is well. We just got a manager who has some credibility in the footballing world, better known than most at least inernationally, and we're signing **** all. All the talk is about an already quite weak team, losing even more players. CAN WE ****ING START SIGNING PLAYERS PLEASE EHAB YOU ****
