If you class Keane as one of the best then I'd class Maguire as one of the best too. As I keep repeating, he outperformed Keane last season and take away his sub appearances and his rating was 7.21, again higher than Keane. You're grossly underrating him and you'll be proven wrong next season I'm sure, just as I was with Kane when I thought he was crap.

I'm mentioning those players because they're the calibre you need to score 25 goals a season in the PL and even they would struggle. It's hard enough scoring 10-15 let alone 25. So irrespective of their individual styles, you need someone of that ability to replace Lukaku.

Worthington is your Spanish scout, he's Frankie Wortho's brother and was responsible for Hernandez who was crap and he was hell keen on Perez who didn't set the world alight at Arsenal. Carles Gil was another he recommended and a few others I'm glad we never pursued. You've just taken our Scandinavian scout responsible for Amartey, who was supposed to be like Ndidi but wasn't. Welcome to him too.

And that's one for the future, he's in no way going to help with your Lukaku issue. Incidentally we're looking to sign Ilheanacho for £27m for now, I know which I'd prefer.

I don't, but he will be coached/managed by one of the best of his generation. A man who identified VVD and got him down south and made him into a player values at £50m+

Well with Athletico Madrid set to sign him and Barca fans asking why he was allowed to leave on a free....Sandro will be a flop because some scout suggested a player for another side and that didn't work!

    Leicester are also looking at....

    http://m.leicestermercury.co.uk/lei...cking-target/story-30409593-detail/story.html

For £40m bangers. Hope you get him. He will be almost as slow as Maguire

Big step down in quality when you swap him for Mharez

    A. A player who struggles for game time in a City side.

    B. A player in demand?

Good luck with IIheanacho. His game will suit the direct/long ball way Shakey has you playing. Maguire with his hoof stats will be the perfect foil for him to chase down lost causes

Not that you're bitter or anything...

You have a very one eyed view on things it seems. Anything potentially negative that enforces your pre-ordained view you push, whilst completely ignoring the positives, as you've done above, and as you have done with Maguire / Keane.

Come back at the end of next season and we can compare CB notes.

As for replacing Lukaku's goals, it's obvious that we need to spread more gaols across the team, as opposed to relying on a central striker, which is probably why we've just signed Ajax's Captain a goalscoring attacking midfielder. We'll also buy a big money striker to supplement Sandro.

Oh so Keane is going to be a £50m defender because of Koeman just because one of the most complete centre halves in the PL happens to be that good? Yeah righto.

How well did Janssen do last season after blowing the Eredivisie away? Huge step up to PL so yeah let's see how well he settles.

I fully fancy us to finish above you next season so let's see how we go.

As for Mahrez, he was our worst player last season by a considerable distance, he was lazy, not interested and won't be missed playing like that but Siggy isn't a replacement for Mahrez because they're different players, he'll play behind in Okazaki's role and it will be a huge improvement. I want us to spend the £40m to sign him.

Ilheanacho is quality, 21 goals from 64 games mostly off the bench and he's 20. Look what happened when Lukaku couldn't get in Chelsea's team, he turned out alright but let's write off Ilheanacho who is crap because he can't get in City's team. Again yeah righto.

Who is this player in comparison to Jannsen.

Mahrez was excellent when I watched him once Claudio left.

IIheanacho isn't the player to meet your direct style, the one that saved you from relegation, won a title and again saved the club from relegation.

Which game was that then? He wasn't excellent all season, he had slightly better games but he was by far our worst player and he didn't deserve to be in the team and most fans wanted him dropped for Gray. We won six on the bounce despite Mahrez ring on the pitch meaning we were playing with 10.5 players.

Ilheanacho is a goal scorer, a poacher in the box, someone who can create chances for himself and likes to run from deep which is ideal for counter attacking football. Contrary to what you reckon, there is a difference between long ball and counter attacking, sure we'll play the ball over the top when it's on but it mostly goes down the wings or through the middle more than over the top. I think the season we won the league only six goals were scored from long balls. Our attack is fast and direct and he'll suit us perfectly.

Who said he was going to be worth £50m? What I said is that one of the finest defenders of his generation managing/coaching him can't be a bad thing.

Not sure what Janssen has to do with this discussion or the Eredivisie? what is this reference to do with anything.

Never mind, he will enjoy chasing punts from the back from bobble head maguire

Since he signed for them he has been the best he has seen this season and he has watched him since he played at Sheffield United.....but only after realising that's who my Mrs follows and I have seen him many, many times.

Stuart Pearce said he would be astounded if Everton sign Keane, he believes that we should have moved for Maguire<laugh>

I support Leicester and have seen Keane a lot more than you've seen Maguire and I could say exactly the same about a player I watched years ago. He was a liability with the ball, crap passing which hasn't improved judging by his poor pass completion, he switched off and passed responsibility, which he still does judging by the goals Slimani scored. So everything that made him a weak player back then doesn't seem to have been sorted yet.

You live in the past but then I guess that's where Everton are as a football club.

I'll come back next season and we'll see how they're both doing but I'm confident enough to know that you'll be wrong about Maguire and I think Keane will get found out a lot more playing for a more expansive team who rely on defenders to be able to pass the ball.

As for Stuart Pearce, only his opinion which isn't matched by any of the top clubs because they don't see him at that level because he isn't, simple as that. He's not a top class defender, he's decent and he's young but that's as far as it goes so Pearce is talking crap as usual.
