This is absolutely right. For all this idea we have the most solid defence and concede the fewest goals and our problems lie in 'the final third' (TM - Treble), the actual fact is those forwards are/were shackled by the fact our defence is in fact our weak point, not our strength and so the team was overly cautious to compensate for this. We never had a solid centre half partnership, this due to both loss of form and injuries/lack of fitness. We solve that and get a decent DM and the final third takes care of itself. As would, hopefully, the goals.
So £80 mil for essentially a Real Madrid bench warmer, is this serious? Absolutely crazy fee if that's the case. You're mad if you don't go for Lacazette. He'll go for just over 50mil and is far better from what I've seen.
No we should have gone for Salah described as the best striker in Europe on the RS board (no surprise there! )
He's not even a striker I'd like to see the quote from this fairy tale? He's a winger that got 19 goals and 12 assists last season.
Don't think he is what you need though - you need a more traditional #9 who can also get involved in build up play. Just bite the bullet and throw money at Spurs to get Kane - Levy will just invest it in his own pocket so will have the added bonus of buggering them up for a long while.
Did I say it was? I didn't even mention Salah until Christian did. I'm just saying 80mil for a Real Madrid bench warmer is ****ing insanity.
But why so, the only reason that he hasn't played regularly is due to the fact that CR is superhuman and seems able to go season after season without injury. he is there for a reason - as able understudy to the best striker on earth - that makes him a good signing in my book, even though I do have some reservation about his ability to cut it in the PL.
He'll probably be a good striker for you. I just think for that type of money you shouldn't need to question it, he should be world class. Morata as it stands isn't world class. Aubameyang is going to China for about 70mil. Idiot!
Sadly, I think China will eventually see off many a good player - especially the young ones with no family commitments. The lure of easy money will prove too much for young players but once they go, their careers are finished, there is no way they can play a couple of seasons out there and return to top flight European football.
Any player that comes here from Europe must have reservations against them. And on top of that any player coming to United must overcome some invisible barrier to perform at their best. So a benchwarmer at a club like Real cannot be worth this or that much? it does not make sense. If the person keeping you on the bench is CR and is worth £150m. If he fits in and gets the team to win matches which they dominate then he'll be worth it, whether he costs £70m as a benchwarmer... As an aside, it is interesting that for all the flak that Pogba got from his critics about his cost, he managed to get his team 3 trophies: the EFL, the Europa and the Wenger trophy (or CL place). This reality has kept the deluded retard astro very quiet about him on their board. On the final analysis it is all about winning things.
He's been trolling Liverpool fans haha. Most his goals come against the bottom clubs including a hat trick
Amazingly I'm actually agreeing with a scouser for probably the first time in my life in regards Morata. 80 million pounds is close to a world record fee, it's only a few million short of the record. Yet he can't even get in the first team at Real! 60 in all honesty is expensive enough, so we shouldn't even be entertaining anything above that. If you're paying near the world record fee then you expect to be getting the best player in the world in that position, or atleast very close to being the best. Morata according to Zidane is not even the best striker in Madrid, or even the second best for that matter. It's just ridiculous to pay that. In all honesty Javier Hernandez is as good a goal poacher as Morata and we let him go for peanuts.
If 29 year old Higuaín is worth £75M then I can see Morata being £80M. Who else is there for you though - Lukaku?
He was 28 when they bough him. I don't rate Higuain that highly, he's a good flat track bully but in big games he chokes when he gets a chance. He won them the league last year, but they'd have probably won that anyways with Dybala upfront, so whilst he scored plenty domestically he's not really taken them to that next level. He only looked good in one game in Europe, the rest of the time he was the usual passenger, as he always is for the Argentinians too. So for me he wasn't worth the money, as he didn't help the team win much more than they already would have. If anything his lack of composure in Europe was a problem for them. So just because Juventus payed over the odds for a former Real Madrid reject, it doesn't mean we have to too.
I'm getting frustrated by this transfer, It's Real Madrid being twats as per usual, I hate dealing with them, They're only doing this after we didn't give them David De Gea in 2015 in my opinion.
