They still need a new dominant central midfield pair and I expect two big new guys coming for them. Wouldn't be surprised to see Tielemans and Veratti there next year too.
It looks like we're being left behind when we should be one of the teams leading the pack. This summer window will be as painful as all the rest.
Solskjaer talking about the time he took down Rob Lee when through on goal and got sent off but stopped Lee scoring... and Ferguson's reaction aftererwards: “I was applauded off but I wasn’t applauded by the gaffer. He laid down the law with me and said: ‘At Manchester United we never win that way; we win by fair play.’ It was an eye-opener for me. “Some managers would have said ‘well done, son’, but he would not accept that way of winning, which says everything about him.” Eh?! Ferguson saying "we don't win that way, we win by fair play''?
Obviously his stance on cheating mellowed as he got older, or as the league got more and more competitive.
Don't think he ever cheated though. Good to know that he still haunts the Gooners who thought Wenger had reinvented football
If money really is no worries then is Lukaku really the best they could get? Aubemeyang? Mbappe? Lukaku flopped when first choice at Chelsea. He could be top drawer but so far seems to like being a big fish in a small pond.
He was never first choice at Chelsea, he played like 10 league games for us over 3 years. He did flop in said games though, scoring no goals.
When he came back to Chelsea after his first loan he started all those 8 or so games in a row as first choice, from what I remember, and did absolutely nothing. Hence he was then chopped again. Edit, just checked when his appearances were and it appears my memory wasn't particularly accurate. Still, let's see he how deals with the pressure. His touch is woeful and I'm not sure you can develop that. He's a bit like Walcott. Zero technique but a goal threat (bigger goal threat than Walcott obviously). £75m for a man with no touch. Hmm.
