When I tried to figure out how we could fund our summer expenditure, selling Jacob was my prediction. He's probably the only player in our squad we could sell for more than £10m, and as the General points out, it's the area we have the most cover.
Pinkun have followed up the Jacob speculation with a more reasuring take on things: City sporting director Stuart Webber made it clear at the start of the summer every player has a price ahead of the opening of the transfer window, but Murphy is seen as one of the cornerstones of the new Daniel Farke era and it would take a considerably higher offer to tempt the Canaries to consider his departure. “If in the event someone did come for our highly-talented ones it is going to cost a hell of a lot of money,” he said. “At that point we have to be realistic. If a top 10 Premier League club come for one of our players and offer us £20m no-one is stupid enough to say we can turn that down.” He maybe one of our own and I hope he stays and excels for at least one more season. But money talks and every player has a price. I just hope that if he moves he gets game time and can develop whereever he goes. I hope Farke can live up to some of the hype and really bring on Murphy and the rest of the youngsters. Bah! Bah!
Dylan Saint-Louis ? http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...ws/transfer-talk-qpr-lead-birmingham-13218603
More bargain bin shopping. Not a great return in a weaker league than the championship, QPR are welcome to him. I don't see how he would be an upgrade on what we have...........unless we will soon not have them! Bah!
You are obviously easily confused KIO, it is Michael Jackson that has departed this earthly coil, but same initials.
MFW take on the Jacob saga - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...hat-means-a-figure-that-is-eight-digits-long/ EC-L gets it spot on when he says any price has to be a MINIMUM of 8 figures!!!!!
His goal for the U21's last night will add both interest in him and add value to any sale figure we should be looking for. I'd like him to stay at CR but a £10m fee would buy an awful lot of cover in the areas where we desperately need it.
It would proper piss me off if we sell Jacob now after wrapping them in cotton wool and nurturing the both of them for the last 15 years . We have paid almost £10m for some **** like Winkle and Naismith . Sitting on the bench at West Brom isn't going to help his developement into a full England International. If we have nothing to show for it from our time in the Premiership then we are a joke .
I have lost track as to whether we have got the young CB from Arsenal on loan but if we have a snippet from the very hot South of France. Nice tried to get an Arsenal youngster on loan but it fell through because Wenger will only loan out his youngsters if they are guaranteed playing time and Nice could not do that. Wenger apparently told them that it is of no use to Arsenal or the player if instead of training and playing for their development squads the player spends his time sitting on the bench at another Club and if that happened he immediately ends the loan. If we have signed the lad then clearly we know who will be partnering Klose next year.
None of us want to see Jacob (or Josh) leave but every player has an intrinsic value which a club (especially on like ours in a sell to buy position) will need to cash in at some stage. Hopefully not just right now.
This isn't good news, we need to keep hold of the most talented ones, hopefully Farke can persuade him that we now have a youth based policy of getting the younguns in as soon as they are ready. Surely he can have a greater chance of progress with us, Leicester will be farming him out on loans for longer than us being in the PL. That said they'll probably pay him more so he'll be gone soon no doubt Bah!
