Manchester United have confirmed youngster Josh Harrop will leave the club this summer, joining Preston North End once his contract expires at the end of June.

Harrop skyrocketed into the limelight at the end of last season after scoring a wonder goal during United's campaign finale clash with Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old was selected to start by Jose Mourinho, and repaid the faith of the Portuguese boss by coming up with a fine effort in front of a packed Old Trafford.

Highly rated youngster Josh Harrop has swapped Manchester United for Preston North End

Just over one month on however Harrop will be leaving the Red Devils to join Championship side Preston on a four-year deal.

United had offered the Stockport-born youngster a new contract, but the player has opted to put his career first and venture forth in search of regular game time.

Harrop's deal at Deepdale will become effective from July 3.
