Well done all winners today, based on a quick scan of the threads it seems everyone has been in the winners enclosure at some point these last two days!

I'd be hopeful Prosperity Square @ 7/2 - Wexford 7:30 would be capable of handling his 7lb penalty after a facility success here two weeks back. Conor O'Dwyer seems to think a bit of the animal and although his overall profile is somewhat patchy, this looks a decent opportunity to bag a 2nd win in quick succession. There are a few who are reasonably handicapped in here but they have very poor recent records and in hope they don't miraculously bring it all together tonight, I'd be confident of Prosperity Square following up.

Gunner McGregor 20/1 - Wexford 7:00 possibly good that this is late being posted as this is probably a blow out with Galway the main aim but if he is back fit and is trying tonight then he's a fair bit of value right now at 20's.

I was one of the few that fell into the trap <laugh> only out for the spin around and pulled up 4 out. Keep an eye for this lad over the next few months.

One poor jump 3 out put paid to his chance and he got well beaten thereafter. Wasn't going to win wither way. 3 losers today, time to hit the hay.

From a punting point of view, a Wednesday to forget – my only bet of the day the wrong French horse!

Clearly the bookies were not cheering loudly enough for 66/1 Spirit of Valor in the opener – imagine if the O’Brien family had snatched that and been applauded into the winner’s enclosure by bookmakers not punters. It was a good effort by Le Brivido but if that was his best form (not better on soft?) it suggests that the French three year olds might be as ordinary as most of ours appear. Whilst the field was numerically large, there were really only half a dozen with the potential to win so it may not turn out to be great form.

I was quite impressed by Heartache in the Queen Mary but she does look like a typical two year old sprinter, so it is just a case of whether they stick to five or step up to six. Punters who piled on the Wesley Ward bandwagon really lost a wheel. The third, Out Of The Flames, will definitely be stepping up to six as she could not go the pace but stayed on past beaten horses.

The fact that the first three in the Duke Of Cambridge came from the back suggests that Smart Call went too quick up front and clearly Qemah was trained to the day as she came from the back two out with the runner up.

Scottish set the P.O.W. up perfectly for Highland Reel, who proved me wrong by coming up with enough speed to win at the top level over ten furlongs; meanwhile Jack Hobbs was held up at the back and was never a factor. Other than the gap between the first two, there was not much between the next four making this look like dubious form.

Yes, my wife also picked it out in the paddock and didn't think much of my nap, apart from it being a cute baby. I must admit HLAF didn't look that great compared to the winner but I picked them the night before on the basis of the trainer's comments yesterday <doh>.

The TOWNSHEND form got a nice boost there at Wexford. Keep an eye out for him over the summer months, don't think there'll be anything around to trouble him until the big boys come out late autumn. Wonder if there's anything at Galway for him?

I Thought Le Brivido's run could be significantly upgraded. There was a ridiculous draw bias today towards the stand side. Im guessing to made a balls of watering it.

In the group that raced away from the stand side Daban was second of that group five lenghts away form him.

In the Queen Mary the best horse to race away from the stands side finished tenth. Tenth again was the best in the Duke Of Cambridge. By the time the Royal Hunt Cup started 26 of the 29 runners came to the stand side.

It was a serious performance by Le Brivido in my opinion and I'd happily wager that the French three year olds are well ahead of the British and Irish.

They don't come much tougher and honest and versatile than Highland Reel. What a lovely horse to own.
