I wonder if this has any link to us leading, then falling apart in the later stages of games last season.

 

I'm sure both that and the fitness training were to blame FML!!!

 

Hard to tell from the press release, it's not clear whether he was let go as a result of not being up to scratch, or because of one from a whole host of other possible reasons. It wouldn't surprise me if the replacement comes from the continent though.

 

Our fitness was certainly an issue last season - we blew up too many times for it not to be a factor.

 

He had quite a say in day-to-day affairs though I think. If anyone saw that "Day in the life of Russell Martin" video recently, half their day seemed to be fitness analytics and testing etc with only a relatively short period actually out on the pitch. Maybe that was the issue re:fitness.

 

That's very true! I wonder if that video was part of his demise.

That's a bit sad. Leave as Head Coach of Oxford to be an Assistant. He was doing really well there as well. Automatic Promotion and 2 finals at Wembley in 3 years. It's a shame. Oxford is such a big and beautiful place. I'd like to see them come up the leagues.

I don't know how all these teams do it.

Always seems to happen to us when fighting for a title or Against relegation. Pompy, QPR for Titles, Bournemouth the other seasons.

Cheating does seem to pay.
