Have mulled it over for an hour or two and have decided it's a good appointment. Whilst results improved last season I didn't ever feel we were ever going anywhere. Our defending enabled us to scrap out victories here and there but we never looked like automatic promotion candidates. Would that have changed next season if Monk was still in charge ? Extremely doubtful in my opinion. So let's give Christiansen a chance. We need a style of play to not only take us up but be able to compete in the PL. Let's hope he gets a bit of luck. First game at home, full house, 3 points and full steam ahead.
Phil Hay@PhilHayYEP 2h2 hours ago No mention of the length of Christiansen's contract. MD Angus Kinnear said he "quickly established himself as the outstanding candidate".
Afternoon all, just got back from a long trip to South London. Biggest disappointment today is hearing that Bartley is wanted by Boro, no surprise but we should have had him signed and sealed already. New guy likes 4-5-1 apparently his teams are defensive and patient, occasionally he switches to 4-3-3 I'll reserve judgement on him, when Cypriot teams play each other it's like a cauldron from the home fans if you lose, the pressure is intense so he should be able to handle ER Could have been worse, I'd prefer this "gamble" over Sanchez, Pardew or Karanka. My biggest fear is Rads and the director thinking they can win promotion with second rate foreigners like Salerno assumed in our first season. A bit underwhelmed it took so long for someone who was out of work, it puts to bed suggestions that we were looking at someone employed and working out a compensation package. I do however have zero doubt this guy wasn't first or even second choice.
That joke was copyrighted in about 1870 mighty, besides if we'd wanted a big name manager we'd have gone for Christian gross
If you are slipping out to go on holiday in Syria, you can fook off the rules have changed you wont get back in
I'm optimistic as usual, so a bit like Chipsters alter ego. I think the management team is prem quality, ready for when we get there. I think Tommy is unexpected but maybe a great catch, so I will support him until he becomes a joke or wins the fans over. In a points based immigration system he wouldnt have got in but then he does have a win ratio of 59% which is better than god
Well put Ristac. Yes it's an underwhelming appointment but to be honest who was overwhelming on the list of candidates and who realistically could we have approached who was in employment? Should have sorted monk's contract months ago, who knows we might have had a better end to the season if we'd extended it and everyone knew where they stood.
