AFC Bournemouth have again been linked with interest in Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.

In January, the Cherries were linked with a potential move, however Gomez went on to sign a new deal at Anfield which now keeps him contracted until the summer of 2022.

However according to media, who have also linked recently promoted Brighton & Hove Albion and Scottish side Celtic with interest, AFC Bournemouth could once again make an enquiry over the summer...

'Howe wants to sign Gomez for £10m or take him on loan for the next campaign' the report added.

Gomez stands at 6ft 2in and is still just 20 after making the move to Liverpool from then Championship side Charlton Athletic, his last match coming in the 3-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth when the Cherries clinched the Football League Championship.

He made 24 appearances during his first season in professional football and quickly made the £3.5million move to Anfield.

Gomez has since made 10 appearances for Liverpool, including 5 in the Premier League.

His time at Liverpool however has been severely hampered by knee injury.

 

We shouldn't be selling Gomez. He could be worth a fortune in the future if he does develop into a good player. Loan yes sell no.

 

I don't know... clear buy back clause and %sell on fee clause territory but equally he will only get 5? Games this next season.

If we were headed to Europa I'd say hang on til Jan but.... well... he's completely one footed and needs games so its unfair to him to just keep him

 

If he went on loan for 2 seasons to a PL team it wouldn't hurt, he's young and not going to be good enough to start for us for quite some time but if he does develop into a quality player then based on him being English he'll go for a big fee. Or be good enough to start.

Joe Gomez's injury has limited his chances in our first team just like Danny Ings. I think the two should be loaned out not sold and we take it from there. We might regret selling any of them, and have to pay premium to buy it back..

 

I don't ever see Ings having a future with us. Gomez could be a star though, would be good to loan him out

 

Liverpool have bid rejected for Zielinski - report
Remember Piotr Zielinski? Well the Reds are back in for him, according to reports in Italy.
The Polish midfielder was a target for Jurgen Klopp last summer, before he moved to Napoli from Udinese and Klopp signed Gini Wijnaldum from Newcastle.
But according to Il Mattino, the Reds have returned with a £25m bid for Zielinski. He made 47 appearances for Napoli this season, scoring six goals.

Rafael Benitez could be reunited with Lucas Leiva at Newcastle, according to reports today.
The Liverpool midfielder has completed 10 years at Anfield and he will decide his next move this summer.
Should he decide to leave Anfield, Benitez could be waiting with open arms at Newcastle, according to the Northern Echo.
Lucas, who has been linked with a return to Gremio, is said to have been identified by Benitez as an option as the former Reds boss looks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the Premier League campaign to come.
The Northern Echo reckon it would take around £4m to persuade Liverpool to allow Lucas to leave the club.

I'd agree on a loan for gomez with requirement of games to play.

Eddie howe just chances his arm imo with young lads who might and bournemouth will go down if they get enough wrong. They were marginal last year.

It's 2 weeks before the signings are official and it's spookily quiet on here.

Said it earlier, English clubs can already buy off each other. 9th June was the opening of the English Transfer window (Europe and free transfers is 1st July)

Its scary quiet, only links I've seen with us over the last week is players potentially leaving.
Everyone seems to think Salah is a done deal, I'm more sceptical of that. Doesn't seem we're any closer to agreeing a fee with Roma than we were last month.
And its very quiet on all the other targets. Need to get on with it.

 

If he get's game time it's a good move for him. Hopefully we put some kind of clause in saying he has to play a certain amount of games.

These kids need to be playing and a club like Newcastle, Huddersfield etc. are perfect. Ideally Solanke should go and have a full season playing somewhere too. However, I have a feeling we're not getting a new striker so he might be needed.

We can't rely on Sturridge and he's the only one capable of 25 goals a season!

I just think Klopp want's defenders and a CM first, whether he can get a striker too I'm not so sure. I seriously hope we do as we clearly need one. I just think he's happy to play Firmino there if needed - Sturridge will probably be injured most of the season which leaves a choice of Origi, Firmino and Solanke. He may even play Mane through the middle at times.

Clearly we need a striker I'm just not so optimistic about getting one than I am about other positions. I'd quite like Lacazette tbh, not sure what his situation is though.. possibly going to Arsenal?

 

Sturridge injured???. Has not been called up by England.
