According to several sources, SW considered Danny Cowley of Lincoln City in the search for a new HC. At 38, Cowley has only ever played and managed in non-league football and seems even less qualified than AN was when he came in. A bit worrying, IMO. http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/2017-05-16/norwich-considered-lincoln-boss-in-search-for-new-manager/
That is quite worrying Rick and to be fair, prior to AN coming to CR, his management experience was pretty limited. IMO, his downfall was in sticking so much with his pets (especially Naismith) and trying to play pretty much the same tactics in nearly every game. I'd like SW to bring in someone we haven't heard of, but who can motivate the players and change tactics - even occasionally!!!
Has the rumour been mentioned about Lambert returning to Carrow Road? As unlikely as the link might be, his addition to the pool of available managers is an interesting twist
Don't want him back mate, his track record since leaving here isn't great and besides we tryed that before with Mike Walker
Can't see it happening either, what with him leaving Wolves (as well as Blackburn before) as he doesn't have control over who he signs.. Moving to a club that has just appointed a Director of Football to oversee that area would make zero sense.... But stranger things have happened in football. And his stint at Villa aside, he's still got a decent record. He got Wolves out of a very sticky situation
The Cowley brothers at Lincoln are now being mentioned. Only managed non-league so far, so hope that this comes to nothing. Maybe ones for the future, let's see how they do in League two next season.
I expect the rumours will ramp up if this happens - https://www.expressandstar.com/spor...-for-new-wolves-boss-as-aitor-karanka-linked/ Does anyone think Karanka could be on the short list???? Edit - Looks like it won't be the Cowley brothers - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ve-ear-marked-as-their-new-main-man-1-5020117
Just did a quick search on Karanka. He is represented by Jorge Mendes' company, Gestifute. Mendes is supposedly the reason Lambert wants to leave Wolves because of all of Mendes' clients he's had foisted on him. FYI: Gestifute also represents Nelson Oliveira.
Fingers xd they don't go up! He would be my choice! http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...d-wagner-ready-to-quit-huddersfield-1-5021578 Although, I heard the other day that Dortmund might be interested in him. Apparently he used to be their U23 coach.
The play-off is goalless at half-time. SW have had 4 shots, 1 on target and Huddersfield have had 2, none on target. Not one for the neutrals, really.
