Tweet from Jacob M thanking the fans and apologising for 'not achieving our goals' Great responses from Huckerby and Eadie - who both know a bit about wide play
Looking at the transition to next season, there are some positives to take forward. We ended up joint top scorers with Newcastle and Fulham, with 85 goals each for the season and we also had the 4th highest goal difference. The downside of course was the defending with the most goals conceded and that has to be the priority for SW and the new HC to sort out, along with a new DM to replace Mulumbu and a new striker to replace Lafferty. Oliveira had 11 goals from 16 starts and 12 sub appearances while Jerome had 16 goals from 31 starts and 9 sub appearances, as well as 7 assists. Both Murphys are now fully integrated into the first team and Maddison and Godfrey are on the verge of that as well. After that, it depends on who else leaves and the quality of the new players coming in. That and the new HC as well.
I would be very surprised if Dijks signs for us,and from what I can tell, he is a bit of a swashbuckling performer, which can be a liability, so maybe not such a great miss as we may believe.
Just watched JR on EPD website, he says when he finishes playing, he'll move back to the area. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/paddy-davitt-the-baton-passes-at-norwich-city-1-5006911
Would still want Irvine as Head Coach (not manager - typo). He was pretty scathing of the Board on RNorfolk so there goes his chances.
I'd quite like to see AI involved with NCFC - perhaps coaching/managing the under23s. If he wants to that is.
I said ages ago I would take time to do this. I CBA. They don't deserve the effort.Plus so many have been sh*t. I'll Just mention the players I think deserve the credit. Pritchard, Howson, Jacob, Josh, Nelson, Jerome, Hoolahan, Pinto, Maddison (for his quality per minute)
That's a fairly accurate summary IMO - though Jerome is borderline for me - his miss on Sunday was typical, but his pass to Hoolahan for the 4th goal was excellent.
I'd add Dorrans to that list, I've never been a fan of his but I've got to be honest he has turned in some solid performances this year when selected, and he can score penalties.
Oliveira missed an equally good chance. We will be a poorer team next season without Jerome. It wasn't our lack of goals that failed us this season. Indeed the number of goals scored, particularly since AN left, is one of the few successes this season.
Our win ratio certainly seems better when he plays. I think he's one of those players whose value to the team is greater than his individual value, I'd also say Howson and to a lesser extent Jerome fit into this category.
Put it this way - I'd rather we had Jerome playing for us than against us. He and Basil will be a good strike force next season and if we can replace Lafferty (who he ?) with a quick and nimble sriker (in the Gayle mould) then we'll have a strike force to be reckoned with.
Oh yea. Forgot about him. Yea, he was good. Bit of a hot head, but looked quality. He wont be coming back though.
Nope! Got a link? Or is it on here somewhere? Why would he want to!? I'm sure he could start for a Bottom half of the table Premiership Club!
