Its the penultimate game of the season and remarkably its still all to play for as the Chairboys travel to Lancashire to take on the Shrimps at the Globe Arena and nothing less than a win will do for the Chairboys to give themselves a realistic shout at making the playoffs. Gaz has no known new injury problems and we are still waiting on news of PCH return. This is a must win game and I expect the lads to be ready and able to bring back all three points
Let's hope so and if some of the other results go our way it could make for a nail biting finish. À la Bury
My Dad came from a village that overlooks Morecambe Bay but from the other side. I spent a fair few school holidays as a City kid running about on a farm thinking that side of the family were all a bit yokelish. Turned out that side of the family were living in a property that would eventually be worth £1m+. Ironically my Great Grannie ran a "Shrimping" business. She wasn't poor either but only ever gave the kids a bit of homemade treacle toffee, not a bag of just a piece. I hated treacle toffee. They may have had the cash but the local football team were crap. All you can do is win your games and let the rest worry about you. Think you might with this one.
I don't know how I survived 3 seasons ago, I was so nervous this afternoon. We don't deserve to get in the playoffs but still , somehow might.
Just finished watching the big fight. Pity about the score. If we had won, as it turns out, a win next Saturday would have seen us in the play offs
Scenario we need to win and only one out of Carlisle Blackpool Stevenage and Col U can win if we are to make the playoffs
Yes. Pity that. Another late goal against Morecambe would have set the scene for a large crowd on Saturday, hoping to see us in the play offs. As it is I suspect there will be relatively little interest due to the most unlikely probability of that scenario
Again a lot of effort & not a lot to show for it must have been the 70min before we even had a shot on target ok we hit the bar but even our goal was a scramble i am afraid to say Gaz cocked up by picking Thompson & Hayes you can not play these two together now they are too slow. Why do they Insist on trying to put the ball in the air to the Beast all the time he is as good on the floor laying balls off. With only one win at home since beginning of February I can not see us beating Cambridge who now have even more to play for.
Carlisle and Blackpool are in the position I wanted us to be in. It's in their hands; win and they are in the play offs. Blackpool are trying their hardest to avoid the opportunity handed to them. They lost to Notts County and had just 2 shots on target compared to County's 9. However they have been given another opportunity to secure the play offs, in front of their home crowd, against Orient. Must have been planned to secure the best gate possible this coming Saturday And Carlisle should have an easy passage against Exeter who have secured their place and will surely not be risking injuries at this stage. That's that then
Where you finish dictates where you play in the second game so Exeter will be interested if they get to play at home second by winning. There will be a few twists and turns next Saturday that's for sure. At least you have a chance which is more than half the league have.
We have done it so next Saturday will be watched by me out of interest more than anything. I absolutely don't really care if we win the league or not. It will be the most interesting weekend of the season with the posibilities. No doubt sky sports news will follow it by showing goals as they happen and how the league sits with each one. Facinating if your team isn't in the sweat. All I can do is wish you the best of luck with it even if a number of Argyle supporters probably won't be. Mind you they all seem to hate one team or another for some bizaar reason. You know how it goes "one of them stole my grandad's pasty in 1964" or some such rubbish. Just win the game is all that they have to concentrate on.
