So there we have it, Fernando will miss the Monaco Grand Prix to take on the task of winning the Indy 500, but where do you think he can finish? Will his Honda engine bring success in another series?

He will carry out a private test on the 3rd of May, and a range of practice and qualifying sessions before lights out on the 28th of May.

Whilst driving the no. 29 Mclaren Honda Andretti (powered by a 2.2L V6 Honda with a 6 speed gearbox), his competition will be fierce. With the likes of well-known drivers such as Sato, Rossi, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Sebastian Bourdais, JPM, Will Power, Pagenaud and Newgarden.

I am sure the whole F1 community will be rooting for his success and more importantly his safety.

This has to be laced with irony, so a DNF engine.

Michael Andretti really knew how to destroy an F1 car.

He'll be right as rain... And with a little luck he'll get a good result.

I don't get the fear, 2 people have died from injuries received whilst driving an F1 car since the last racers death at Indy, he's a good driver, better than Pippa Mann, Chilton and the others who can't or didn't make it in f1, and they've survived unscathed. They have a week of practice after they've done their rookie tests.
I personally think it's great he's going there, I hope they change the scheduling slightly in the future so more can go without missing an F1 race.

    I have absolutely no idea.

there are so many nuances to this race in terms of strategy that i couldn't possible call what he will do.

well that's just it isn't, who knows when the yellows will come out, so many variables. I think if he has a clean race he'll do well

The following year he returned, which is more than Senna did when he had his crash in F1 2 years later.
It's a motor race, he's a motor-racing driver, I really can't understand people's problem, it's not like they're driving rolling bombs whilst naked and doused in petrol without crash helmets or seat-belts.
racing a car is an unnecessary danger, no matter the formulae.

Massive amounts of luck are involved in a race like this. Like you say, keep it clean and hope for fortune with cautious and anything is possible.
