Cannot defend is the single biggest contributing factor. Even when our attack has been poor, we've still scored.

One goal is enough to win any match. We've given up too many leads.

I agree but considering how we have played this season, particularly before Christmas, it's criminal that we have ended the season as we have done

I agree - we've been in great positions to really nail down top 4. And we still are ...

I think people need to stop falking into the deigo trap at night when he is especially argumentative and just making crap up... especially any time we lose.

Also people need to realise lfc are and have been the worst of the top 6 clubs for 5/6 years min.

    Reality check.

Arsenal have done this to themselves but they still have a large if unbalanced squad.

City still have one of the best attacks going, and it only got better when jesus arrived...

Chelsea won the league and since they finished 6th rebuilt. They have top players in every position.

Utd have a large and expensive squad and are actually performing shamefullt since ferguson left but still won two cup in 2 seasons.

Spurs have built and built and currently have a really good first team which only needs one or two players to win the title.

So..... most of us predicted 6th i think prior to season cos all 5 clubs were better than us after our summer buys.

We have done ok, not a great season... 4th is not a great prize....its still 4th thoigh and the obly rhing to call an average year anything lije "good" and the reality is once mane got injured i think most of us expected us to struggle to score as well.

So why fall for manc guff..... cos we ought to get 4th even now i suppose but the reality is we have not been good enough without mane so ought to and what we are are two different things.

My advice is just ignore him at night and not be his entertainment unless you want him to be yours

Had a good day out overall other than the result of course, the new stand is a bit mad, very detached from the rest of the ground but I suppose that's life in a larger stadium.
I haven't watched MOTD yet and feel that when you're at a game you see things differently, sometimes more accurately and sometimes completely wrong. Coutinho was pushed in the box it looked a clear shove and a pen I imagine that has come up?

From my point of view we just lost the plot in the 2nd half and Klopp just didn't react. Worst player on the pitch in both halves was Origi, the ball just bounces off him we could and IMO should have put Firmino up top and given Woodburn a chance.

The full backs are poor especially Milner who is predictable and tired looking.

Lots of work to do in the Summer I just hope we can hang on to 4th.

You can see we have quality though just fill in a few gaps, in the first half Can, Matip and Coutinho all looked good players as did Lucas, unfortunately nobody was good in the 2nd half.

To me it now looks like this.

City are overwhelming favourites to get top 4. Their run in is kind like ours after their derby match this Thursday. Even if they lose they are in control.

The red mancs realistically have to win or at least draw their derby. A defeat would not be fatal but will put huge pressure on them to win against Arsenal and Spurs. Their run in is helpfully the most difficult imaginable. They either play against a top 4 rival or a relegation candidate. We couldn't have scripted it better ourselves. I am amazed that they are still in contention with so many of their key players suspended or injured at various times and having to play so many matches every week.

A draw or loss for us at Watford will also bring Arsenal back into contention. Huge match for us and the wrong time for us to stumble. We simply have to recover and scrape a win at all costs. Any other result the doubts and fear of missing out will come back and our season would be over.

Squeaky bum time for the next few weeks.

I had to walk past some of your coaches on the way back to the car yesterday, it wasn't the best part of the day. <laugh>

It was definitely a penalty - Coutinho hands down best player on the pitch. The rest struggled.

Origi was patchy - does a lot of good work but ruins it with his decision making. Lovren was the worst player on the pitch.

Yet another example of the PGMOL being completely unfit for purpose

They only assess their referees on decisions made hence the massive financial incentive for referees to not make decisions

Ignoring 100 players being hacked down in the box is better for their record than risking one of them being soft

Yeah Lovren just kept getting himself in the ****. Matip looks quality, calm and controlled get him a good partner and will have a great pairing.
Origi though just got groan after groan from the crowd. When we needed him to put his foot on the ball and just keep it simple the ball would just bounce off him and Palace would be away again.

It was a pen but tge reality is he didnt fall down so got a shot from 6 yards so the ref can say he gave advantage.

Origi was indeed total ****. You are right about his inability to hild up play and link.

You are right about full backs. Clyne got in twice early then proceeded to ensure he cut back all game.

Milner was pish. His pens have been his stat boost but when we put a real fullbac there to play firwatd on strong foot we will improve.

Coutinho scored then played ten yards up pitch and ripped them up.

Thry score and hes back on half way.

Basically we NEED him higher up. He comss too deep imo. Why? Cos our lads are **** and he gets more space there... its a bad trap to fall into

That is true. Why he dropped to dictate play was stupid. Yes hes great at doing it but everyone else is **** up top so it just meant by the time he dribbled it up there was even less space for him.

Agreed with most of this. United and city should be doing better. Spurs are solid and arsenal should be ahead but has wenger. Chelsea hardly rebuilt. We bought 2 defenders and 1 cm about the same numbers as you.

The biggest thing is whilst your personnel arent really up to scratch for the system klopp wants to play (should he be more pragmatic fraudiola gets the same criticism) it is kinda klopps fault for not upgrading

I'm a bit more patient than some here (not a critisism) Klopp has only had one Summer transfer window and he spent well there (maybe not well enough) other than that I agree with waiting until this Summer other than the dodgy Jan window if the right people were not available as we've bought ****e way to often and a calm head is needed. We were playing well at the start of the season and there was no way of seeing that mare of a January that we had, so Klopp was looking at what we had done with the squad that he had and decided it was going well enough and that he would wait until the Summer to strengthen again.

Its not all about shots on target, just ask Norwich. 0 shots on target, 2 goals against Brighton on Friday <doh>

I think theres room for both views.

Klopp made a bad error not buying in january but i think he also didnt really have the squad in august he thought he did imo.
