Luiz has been allowed to foul Kane out of it. They've taken their chances and we've made stupid mistakes.
Pochettino has to take 99% of the blame for this. Got it completely wrong and his subs didn't help, either. He's got a lot right this season, but the few mistakes he's made have cost us so badly. The other 1%? Martin ****ing Atkinson. Just awful. Made so many mistakes and allowed them to clog us all over the park without punishment. He won't get criticised for it either, just to rub salt in the wounds. Should never have got it after he ****ed us over the last time we faced them in an FA Cup semi-final. Ludicrous decision.
The wholesale juggling of the lineup and subs were bizarre enough it almost seemed Pochettino wanted to lose this game. Inexplicable. He's been brilliant overall, don't get me wrong.
That's the Narrative, but not the story 1999: Newcastle go 1-0 up from a penalty given for a blatant dive 2010: referee doesn't award us a clear penalty, yet within a minute awards Portsmouth one because of reasons 2012: Chelsea go 2-0 up even though the ball didn't cross the line (and by complete coincidence, Twatkinson was referee that day) 2017: Chelsea go 2-1 up from the spot even though Moses blatantly dived When the referee plays a major role in four of those defeats, that's the story.
I'm not blaming the ref. I'm not blaming the players either or Poch. I just think there is some inherent force that means when it really matters we don't win. I don't know what Spurs have done to upset some higher force but surely sometime in the future it has to balance itself out?! I really hope the wheels don't fall off now and we end up coasting the rest of the season. Let's at least give Chelsea something to think about in the league. All I can say now is come on City. An Arsenal Chelsea final is my worst nightmare
