It's Tuesday and the Chairboys are back at Adams Park for the visit of the Pilgrims and although we seem to have been playing every Tuesday evening all year seven times!!! this is our first at AP in fact its over five months since we played at home on a Tuesday night, so the long wait is over and we all hope for a repeat of our last two home games on a Tuesday.
Gaz has a shortened walking wounded list its now down to just three with Anthony Stewart out for the rest of the season and still no news on Paul Hayes or Scott Kashket.
This will be my first Tuesday home game of the season and also my last as we have on more midweek games so the lads will be wanting to finish strong and take something from this difficult game against the team with the best away record in the division but you have to go back over five months since their last win on a Tuesday so lets hope that run continues and the lads can revive our playoff hopes<cheers>

Looking at the stats they were quite even I'd say until I noticed the fouls. Blissett was the only one with two legs left by the look of it. Some teams never change do they. Has Ainsworth changed tactics now from lay on the floor to kick anything that moves? Shocking.:headbang:

First half we should have been comfortably in the lead the grass was covered with green kit diving on to it second half a change of tactics and they stayed on their feet both teams were devoid of quality a draw was fair in the end but I don't expect the wcw and Adams to except that

Nah be fair. After round one the fouls were 50/50. Second half you lot racked them up. If you keep kicking players eventually they do fall down. At least our's do it after a kick and not because they collided with an imaginary object.

Ahh Greeny, you should be more concerned that we bossed the game 1st half and secured a point. Especially as you have the self professed best manager outside the Premier League.
Would love to see what that odious little turd would achieve with a playing budget like ours - I'm sure we'd be a championship club in three years

Your lot were diving into the grass all of the first half there was rarely 10 green shirts upright maybe the grass was too long or the floodlights too bright without doubt your manager will enlighten us and praise the ref who also thought that if you run into a man mountain and bonce off him onto the floor its a free kick against the player who was stood still also constantly over ruling the lino who had flagged in our favour Unbelievable

Quote from Adams "We have had a very tough schedule Wycombe have had it easier than us and haven't played the same number of games Saturday Tuesday Saturday"
He's got part of that one right Plymouth have played 16 games this year while we have played 19 maths is not his forte <doh>

Amazing comments as ever by adams - cant blame the way weve played or the ref for once so blames us having a non-existant easier scedule!

Good first hour or so from us, then we got sloppy and let a pretty good argyle side back into the game. Had gape of scored his free header at 1-0 i think we would have comfortably seen the game out, but generally a better performance than recent weeks. Point probably a fair result in the end.

On another note, good to see westy back in the team and making a difference - we may need him between now and the end of the season. Another fairly anonymous night for southwell unfortunatly, a very hard worker and i really want him to succeed but he is struggling.

As for the inevitable comments ive seen about us diving/cheating/fouling etc (not as bad on here as on other forums) its utter nonsense. We are not angels, im not hiding that for a second, but argyle were just as bad as us for it last night, and blackpool (especially thier numbers 8 and 9) were worse than both wycombe or argyle on saturday! This reputation goes before us in many fans minds, and i suspect in the minds of some of the officials (although not really last night, just felt like making the comment!).

Looking at the table, we have 4 very winnable games ina row now and really we need to win 3 or 4 to maintain a real play-off chance. We also need kashket back ASAP and gareth needs to decide if muller or de havilland is a better bet at centre back - that sub last night did not look injury enforced (unless someone can tell me otherwise) so perhaps he is unsure which one is the best way forward

Well that attempted wind up didn't go too well then.......

I have yet to read what anyone has said about the game apart from on here but I suspect you are talking about Pasoti which is the main fans forum. They don't like Wycombe much on there and like Ainsworth even less. As for Adams well to be fair like your manager he wouldn't be doing his job right if he talked our club down would he and is often quoted as saying things even the fans don't recognise. He denies the best manager thing by the way and given it was Evans who came out with that I know which one I would believe.

Him and Evans certainly don't spoil a pair!
I think most Wanderers fans would prefer us to play the beautiful game, but to be honest, I think it would have seen us drop out of league 2 and perhaps into oblivion. We spent most of the past few seasons not being able to even field a full bench and therefore the having to scrap for everything mentality has been driven in to the team. Sometimes even we find it a little distasteful. What Ainsworth has achieved (with the support of the chairman) is to stabilise a club left in millions of pounds of debt to a previous owner with an ambitious spending plan. Steve Hayes certainly pumped in the cash, but left us with a load of loan notes and a club losing money and spiralling out of control. We now have paid him off and stopped the rot, though you couldn't say we are by any means a thriving concern. We are starting to be able to add a little bit of quality to the squad with the likes of Saunders, but it may be a few more seasons before we can play a more expansive game with any confidence. What I love about Ainsworth is the way he expects the team to conduct themselves outside of football. The trips to the Somme and the way we embrace rememberance Sunday. The life skills he tries to instill in to the younger players. The charity work the the players do and the time they spend with the public above and beyond what is expected...I could go on!
Yeah we play some scrappy stuff at times and try and eek out any advantage we can, but their is a reality to Ainsworth and his team and some qualities I have not seen in many of our previous managers.

<wah>...........that's a really touching story Slasher.

My club knows all about debt and falls from grace but you have to remember we fell from a fairly lofty perch. That's the Championship I mean. We were so close to going out of business let alone going out of the league. All thanks of course to a previous bunch of owners but then again isn't it always. A lot of our fanbase still think of us as a Chamionship club or thinking we should be. You would think by now after the last 5 seasons of absolute dross in this league they would have realised we are as crap as the rest of the league and don't play anything like a Championship club. If we did or could we wouldn't be here. We have huffed and puffed for 2 seasons now and finally the majority think it's this year the rise will start. Some of the posters on the named fans forum, pasoti, are quite balanced but like everywhere there are those who bask in past glory and think we are too good to be playing you lot. They can't quite fathom the concept of you are where you are for a reason. I have truely never thought we were either better than or deserved more than any other team. You get your rewards for results not how pretty you play and all teams play to their own strength not the oppositions. The blinkered ones just think we should only have to turn up and we win. When we don't they have to blame somebody so that's where the opposing tactics and or manager come in. It's always a given it's the Ref as well. If we get promoted this season, and I am definately not taking anything for granted, these same people will start it all again next season albeit one step higher. They will forget we would be the newbies from below stairs and still think we should win and criticise opposing teams. Fans have always got to have somebody to hate. Look at Colu-mike. He clings to that hate despite having nobody to share it with.
