Come on boys. As much as that was some of the worst play calling ever, brady still had to march down 90+ yards 3 times with 2 2point conversions to beat the falcons after an abysmal first half and some awful drops. Brady must be the goat now.
That giants defence destroyed the o line in both superbowls. Pats had no run game and those giants pass rushers were something else
Not really. Rodgers is technically the better qb with far greater movement and a much better arm and was carrying a terrible defence but he messed up against falcons and they got smashed. Brady has been doing it his whole career with average receievers and just leading his team. One time he gets awesome receievers and they rip up all records but fail against the giants. Brady brings intangibles to that team much like how terry is not as good as koscielny physically or technically but will go down as the better and team player
Bob - I partially agree with Terry / Brady comparison. Belichik's contribution in making Brady so good is very underrated. Even Wentz will win 4 or 5 rings under Belichik's schemes. His game management & attention to details is impeccable. In NFL - attention to details is what wins games.
Brady and the Pats are a top class team. There's no doubt about that. Last night however what Falcons did was some of the most inept and illogical play calling you will ever see in a Super Bowl. Run the ball, run the clock, kick the field goal, take the trophy home. But no- they risked it and paid the penalty. If I were a Falcons fan I would feel sick.
It could take years for some of them to get over that, unless they come back next year and win it all. Tampa Bay are still NFC south No 1. Not saying much I know.
You think that 30+ players are following some sort of script whilst going through actual proper injuries through the year with broken legs etc? Even you must see how ridiculous that sounds. I would say it was as rigged as Liverpools come back at Istanbul. All AC had to do was play keep ball and shut up shop...
If any game is possible - it is NFL. Every play is called from the sidelines. 30 or 44 players on the field will blindly follow the script (play book call). It is not improbable.
too many variables to fix a game in that way, for example the catch off the ankle, you can't legislate for that.
Jesus tapdancing christ, how a sack in the third quarter can cost you a Super Bowl... Falcons should've won that, some very dodgy play calling in the 4th quarter.
I thought Tampa had cornered the market in how to throw games away under Schiano, and to a lesser extent Sideshow Raheem, but I was wrong.
