My eating so far in Budapest is embarrassing. I've had a burger king whilst hammered last night. This morning I went to a Vietnamese place for brunch. Which was ultimately weird eating spicy really ****ing spicy noodle soup with raw bits of steak in. Nice but weird.
Went here on Saturday... http://www.lapiccolaitalia.wales/html/about.html Top place, I had the prawn starter, Lamb shank main and tiramasu dessert.
Looks nice that. We did a deep sewer diversion next to that leisure centre a couple of years back. (I looked on google maps where the restaurant was) I'm off to the CIA in Cardiff wednesday, Pixies are playing there. Haven't bothered buying their new album, which is a bit daft of me I must admit. Was wondering where to eat after? Probably a bab in chip alley.
Tonight I am making pork chops which I've started off in the pan with butter, rosemary and garlic. Then transfer to the oven to roast with a bit of chicken stock more garlic and rosemary. Roast potatoes cooked in beef dripping with more rosemary and garlic. Stuffing with more garlic and sautéed Savoy cabbage with bacon bits in. Will serve with gravy. Had the option of housework or cooking so I opted for the cooking. Keeping my eye on the game too.
Pussy. Did a 24oz steak last night with 3 pints of moretti and lemon meringue pie. Had a tremendous **** this morning too.
This was silly though, there was a short beef rib the size of a steak. Full rack of pork ribs, half rack of baby back and some lamb ribs which were minging. Fries with it. I never want to eat again at this point.
Having a last meal with friends in the local restaurant tonight before returning to a chilled old Blighty for Xmas. Can't decide on the suckling pig with fig and apricots or the slow cooked rib of beef with port and beetroot sauce. No problem deciding on the beer and wine. Salut.
Might have to treat myself to a steak tonight. Will see what they have over the shop. Gym first, not that I can be at all arsed. Having a Nepalese curry on Friday. The owner/chef is a Gurkha, tiny little place that's BYO. Looking forward to it, hopefully there's a little difference to normal Indian dishes.
We're an hour ahead so I can leave the decision until 7pm UK - rib of beef the obvious winner at the moment but I probably won't care much as I will be smashed on Estrella and local red wine by the time the food comes around.
I'm having pie. Chicken leek and bacon. With roast potatoes and green beans. Failing at my not drinking and having a glass of merlot.
