    Are you buying ?

Nothing stopping you visit me on the Swans' forum.
You don't have to enter into any debate, but there are some decent non football, non confrontational threads, viz, music, create a story, word games.

As Shania Twain says "Come on over".

The reception I've got from some over there maybe OK but historically I have some bad memories of posting anything remotely deemed to be a wum. Although I have been known to do that in the past <laugh> I can assure you this past 4 or 5 years I have matured somewhat. <laugh>

I might well look in if we both remain in relegation scraps - and am probably even more likey to if we pull out of ours and you remain in yours......:emoticon-0105-wink:

As Greg German used to say on a regular basis in "Ally McBeal" - "bygones".

"I can assure you this past 4 or 5 years I have matured somewhat".
Is a name change to "Oldcheddar" on the cards ? <laugh>

Now, I can relate to that. Things that used to tick me off now falls more or less on deaf ears. Personal attacks notwithstanding, of course.
Life is too short to let a football forum dictate my demeanor.

I can relate to that. <ok>

As far as the matured "Oldcheddar" (very good <ok>) is concerned. I'll take a raincheck on that - I used to be a fan of Peter Stilton...........<laugh>

    Thought I'd resurrect this thread.

My preseason dark horse tips were Bristol & Villa. Neither look likely to go up, in fact Bristol are looking downwards after 1 point in I believe in the last 30! They have signed a German player today who we'll see if he is any good soon. I suspect they have more players lined up.

Villa need to replace half their team if they're going to make the top 6.

My predictions based on half the season gone are:

    Promoted BHA & Newcastle.
    Play off Norwich
    Relegated Rotherham, Burton & Forest

Got to admit I'm a little sad about Burton. Lived there a long time ago... started work there even. Not sure what has heralded their rather meteoric rise from way down. Maybe it is to do with Pirelli or Coors. But welcome all the same to see littler clubs rise steadily.

Well Bluey..........Rotherham are 1/200 <yikes> to go down, Burton are 2/1 and Forest 4/1.

That would give you a treble of just over 14/1.

Nin - do you fancy your choice enough to go for it?

Incidentally, we are now @ 5/1 to go down and the Wurzels have come in from 40/1 when I had my fiver on them to 16/1 right now.

Personally I think that's ridiculous bearing in mind we're now on the same points as them with a game in hand - particularly as we've got Warnock at the helm and they've got young Johnson who seems to have completely lost the plot this last dozen games.

I'd rather have that fiver on them for the drop rather than us especially at more than three times the odds.

Top 2 - looks like only threat to BHA and Newcastle is Reading atm
smokey for a side not already in top 6 - Fulham
relegation - looks like Rotherham, Wigan and then the way this league goes anyone of 6-8 others so I will have to go Burton atm

great thing about the Championship is its unpredictability, we better get ready for it next season unless Mr Clement can weave some magic with the shower of sh*t we have atm

with the crap we have more like 500,000-1, just trying to figure out why 75% (of higher) or the signings we have made over the last 3-5 seasons have been utter dross (being polite)

    Good question Musty.

Such a dramatic change from the club's prior achievements in signings. Could be a Prem thing, feeling the need to make more marque signings rather than spotting lower value signings which could be later sold on to produce big rewards - and failing with most?

Our experience for our one season was similar - and not much change since!!!!
