Leicester City face competition from Juventus to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, 27. The ex-Stoke City man has a £25m buy-out clause.
We are close to signing Dylan Watts - a 19 yo Irish AM from UCD. One for the future most likely. http://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...irytale-move-to-leicester-city-35000897.html?
I wasn't overly impressed with him at the olympics, didn't really seem to be involved very much in their goals. Luan on the other hand looked well worth the £35m that was quoted earlier in the window.
We are linked with James McCarthy from Everton - bit of a strange one as he is first choice CM http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/08/2...ew-favourites-in-the-race-to-sign-jam/page/1/
We've bid 25M for Adrian Silva of Sporting according to the player himself, who from an admittedly translated article, wants to join us. Allegedly the Chairman is in Portugal to tie up a deal for him & Slimaini.
Sporting and Silva appear to have a differing view, hopefully we are negotiating and this is the early"we tried everything to keep him" statement. Although I'm feeling less confident about him or Slimaini signing. SPORTING SAY SILVA IS STAYING Adrien Silva might think he is heading to Leicester, but his club, Sporting Lisbon, don't seem so sure. They have released the following statement. "The player renewed his contract in February 2016 in a deal involving significant sums of money, making it absolutely clear that the extension to his contract would mean that Adrien Silva would say at the club until the end of his career. "Never during recent months has anything been said to the president or has any proposal been made for the transfer of Adrien Silva and the president has not met with the player's father or representatives for that purpose. "Sporting CP and its president will always defend the interests of the club and will also defend the club's assets."
Is either a powerplay for more money or suddenly realising that selling both their captain and top scorer a day before the transfer window closes isn't a good idea.
Challenge of a lifetime for the sports science and medical team.... Undoubtedly a talented footballer when fit but, and it's a massive but, he hardly ever is. Which must be massively frustrating when you are so talented. Arsenal do seem to have a habit of breaking players, would actually be interesting to see if a different medical team could resolve his injury issues or if he truly is made of glass. I'm not advocating signing him for the experiment though.
Tom Lawrence has gone to Ipswich on loan - surprised it wasn't permanent as he wasn't given a shirt number. Besiktas have also apparently agreed a fee with us for Inler which is where he wants to go to.
Inler has gone to Besiktas, 3 year deal. Shame it didn't work out for him here but good move for all parties. BREAKING: Besiktas sign #LCFC's Gokhan Inler on three-year deal #DeadlineDay #SSNHQ http://skysports.tv/J1MQBz 10:09 AM - 31 Aug 2016
Summer Transfer Deals Nampalys Mendy - Nice, £13m Ron-Robert Zieler - Hannover 96, £2.6m Luis Hernandez - Sporting Gijon, free Raul Uche Rubio - Rayo Vallecano, undisclosed Ahmed Musa - CSKA Moscow, £16m Bartosz Kapustka - Cracovia, £7.5m Islam Sliimani - SP Lisbon, £29.8m As important, if not more, the players we've kept.
Probably goes down as an 8 out of 10 in my opinion. Lots of positives including keeping everybody but one, the signings of Musa and Slimani look great, hopefully Mendy will be too Only downside is losing Kante and we seem a face short in midfield and defence still. Purely thinking domestic we look great and can beat anyone. Thinking for Europe, those extra couple could have really strengthened us
Crazy when you see Leicester & a 29 million pound transfer togehter in the same article. Yeah, Kanté is a loss but the owners sure have put their money where their mouths are. Well l guess they had too. Armatey maybe put in Kanté´s roll. Fantastic re-signings & l´m happy with our summer transfers. Going to be really interesting to see where we finish this season.
Amartey's performance vs Swansea lessens the blow of Kante for me. Jan/Feb will be fun times though when Mahrez, Slimani, Musa and Schlupp will be gone to the Africa Cup of Nations.
