H all. I have volunteered again to admin the 2017 League, and all are welcome to join in. The Rules Each member will make a prediction before match kick off and will predict the score and name the scorers. Each member will then earn 2 Points for predicting correct result [ex. Arsenal Win]. Each member will then earn an additional 3 Points [ex. 5 Total] if they predict the correct scoreline [ex. Arsenal 3-0 Crystal Palace]. If a member earns 5 Points as above, then they will earn additional Bonus Point per each correctly named scorer. So if you don't get scoreline correct you can only get 2 points as you won't get any bonus points for naming scorers. If you get scoreline correct you will get a minimum of 5 points and you can get additional points for naming the scorers. Cup Games & CL - please read as rules changed for 2017 In the event we play in a game that may require extra time or penalties please make your prediction as normal - for example Arsenal 2 Barcelona 1. If game goes to extra time you will get 2 points if you get the result correct irrespective if it is in extra time or after penalties. so in this example if Arsenal win after extra time or penalties you will get 2 points. If you get the score correct then you will get 5 points irrespective if it is in extra time or normal time - obviously you won't get 5 points if it goes to penalties. You can also submit a prediction for League Position at Xmas and season end, Champions League, FA Cup, and Capital One Cup. Each correct prediction will earn bonus of 10 Points for a total 50 Bonus Points, but it is for fun only. PM the mods or me gooner4ever if you have any issues.
To pass away the time until the start of the new season, how about doing a prediction league for the Euros ? I'd do one but I haven't got ****ing clue how
I will think about a Euro prediction league but it would have to be result only (except for England games) as too much hassle looking for scorers for the other teams. All games are numbered so it's easyish to set up. Only small problem is I'm going there for 6 days so table will only be updated when I get back. So if people are interested I will post it ASAP
Put up all the group games before you go. I assume you'll be back for the knockouts (along with England)?
They're not Normans they are ****ing Anglo Saxons Have you heard that Llandudno are in next season's Europey League ?
I'd be well up for a Euro prediction league. **** Wales though, nobody wants to waste their time on them
Is there a way that we can put some money in to a pot for the winner of this year's prediction league ? Maybe if those who want to contribute agreed to paypal over £1 or £5 each to the winner ? It would certainly make it a bit tastier People could still take part without contributing if they want, but they wouldn't be entitled to the winnings should they win. What do people think ?
Alice wasn't born there, the Lidell (The real Alice's family name) family had a holiday home there and apparently Lewis Carroll visited them there although there is no proof of this.In my opinion Llandudno has at best a very tenuous link to the Alice in Wonderland story.
I know, but as far as I know Lewis Carroll and the Liddell family visited Llandudno when the Liddel family were on family holidays and Carroll told the Liddell children stories to keep them entertained - with Alice in Wonderland being born from these stories. I suppose everything is tenuous, but then what else does Llandudno have... the Orme?
I have created the Euro 2016 prediction league in the Premier League forum as some posters are banned from the Arsenal forum
Llandudno has got two Ormes There is no proof that Carrol ever visited Llandudno. The house that the Lidell family owned was demolished a few years ago (it was called Pen Morfa)At the time representations were made to CADW to stop the demolition because of the link to Alice in Wonderland.CADW asked for proof of the Lewis Carroll link but none could be provided.A couple of months ago a local historian produced a photo of a man posing with some children outside Pen Morfa, according to him the people in the photo were Lewis Carroll & the Liddell children
