All the ****ers came out in the snow. Every single one. Ive fitted cameras now and will soon be making these specialist retards famous.

If I didn't have the cameras, by now I might have beaten someone to death. Probably the kind of inbred ****er who pulls half way into the road assuming people will stop.. not a ****ing chance.

    The term "Respect your elders".
Its the most retarded saying ever created and whom ever was its creator needs knee capping.

And Elder does not automatically deserve my respect just because he has managed to avoid death.
A person gets my respect if he deserves it, be he an elder or a youth, through his actions.
Being old will not exempt you from my scorn if you are a ****.
If you are a **** I will call you a ****, regardless of your age.

One of the only times in my adult life when I came close to making someone choke on their teeth was a 55 year old man.
I was about 22 and I was round my brothers house and he had a little patch of grass at the side of his house between his house and another house.
It was pretty big, anyway I used to take this big tree branch that had fallen down in a storm one time and take my brothers dog to this patch of grass and throw stick and he used to run and fetch it back to me.
One time the branch hit the wall of my brothers' neighbours house, because, being a huge brach, it bounced awkwardly. Now when i say it his his wall, this is a brick wall mind, not a window or a door, but the brick wall on the side of his house.

He came out effing and blinding like a ****ing mad man, I apologised to him and said it was an accident but he wouldnt' have it "Aint you got anything better to do you little ****" etc etc.
I ****ing launched myself at him (and I am by no means a violent person, have had maybe 2 fights my whole life, since school) and grabbed him by the throat and told him that he should know better at his age than to speak to people like that and that he is lucky I am not some knife wielding chav or he would be coughing up blood right now and told him to be ****ing careful how he speaks to youngsters these days because most of them have less morals and ethics than an alley cat.
He **** himself (not literally) and started apologising.
Lesson learnt for me though....a **** is a ****.....regardless of age.

    Respect your elders?! **** you.
Respect belongs to those who show respect.

But the term is "respect your elders" not "respect all ****s" <laugh>

I think respecting elders is a good thing to teach children tbh, and builds a better society as a whole. If some fcker behaves the way that bloke did towards you, then all bets are off ofcourse.

I came across a new escalator abomination btw. I'm going to watch a film last night and going up the escalator to get to the cinema. And 3 women in front of me get to the top of the escalator, step off, and just decide to stop and have a discussion about where they want to go. Yeh, don't mind the queue of ppl coming up behind you ya fcking idiots <doh>

BTW, Hail Caesar... What the fck did I watch!

    Elder does not equal older.

Respect your elders doesn't mean "respect old people" it means "respect individuals whose age has given them experience and understanding beyond yours".

It leaves you free not to respect people whose age has given them nothing but a massive stick up their arse.

But thats what an elder is.
    An old person.
The phrase mentions nothing of people with understanding beyond mine.
There are people the same age or younger than me with understanding of things that is beyond mine.
Its presumptuous to assume that just because a person is older that they will be wise. I know plenty of old idiots. Look at Ossie on our board :)
It's a blanket term, that assumes too much....a bad saying.

Not necessarily Bod. Respect doesn't mean you have to agree or even take their advice. It just means that you listen to the experience their age may have given them, especially someone who shows enough of an interest in you to offer it. The 'respect' part is simply the default position we take to acknowledge their experience may be something they can draw upon to provide some insight beyond our own.

You can weigh up the substance of their words. You can choose to follow their advice, or if you're not interested, leave it. The point of the saying imo, is not to mock or say something like ''who are you to say''.. which would be to show disrespect.

    Not in this context.

In this context an elder is someone who holds a position of seniority or authority by dint of their age and experience. It comes from Ancient Greece where rule was reserved for older people, but not all older people ruled. But elders in a position of authority and wisdom are common to most tribal and religious societies.

Nowadays the term 'elder' has become diluted by its use as an adjective (my elder sister, elderly people), but at its heart the phrase 'respect your elders' comes from the concept of respect for individuals whose age has brought wisdom and experience, not just old people.

Etymology aside, I wholly agree that people who misuse the phrase to imply respect for people should solely depend on their age should be dumped straight in Room 101. Along with all the nutty old ****s like Ossie and the rest <ok>

    <ok>

Hate to admit but thats the only context I have heard it in, seems people around me have been using it in the wrong context my whole life.
But you are quite right, just a quick look up of the word "elder" and I can see it primarily refers to someone in a position of authority or seniority, rather than just "old guy".
Consider me schooled :) And I shall pass that wisdom on the next time a **** tard uses it incorrectly.
