The police pay an officer to spy on the family and friends of a murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence so they can attempt to smear them instead of actually catching the racist murdering scum that did it...
nice to see how the ****ers use our taxes!

Tip of the iceberg my friend. Money is the key to society. The poor will always be ****ed over by the rich, always have been, and always will be. The law is specifically arranged so as the less off citizens are at a disadvantage. Your vote is useless, and they call it democracy, ****ing joke, but not so funny if you fall foul of it.

All interesting stuff. The wealthy (and it should be stated that this is very wealthy, not just well off) will and have always had the power. It doesn't matter what Country / Religion / era you go to, it has always been the case.

The difficulty here lies with the laws and Human Rights, rather than trying to blanket-blame any section of Society - in this case, the Police. For sure, there are some "bad-uns" in the force, but show me any other part of the population that is whiter than white. In every line of work, there are good, normal and bad - whether they are the Police, Bankers, Unemployed, Taxi-drivers, Lawyers, Estate agents, Retailers etc. etc. There are, however, 2 key differences - 1) roles such as the Police and Bankers are high-profile and previously (generally) trusted and 2) failings are publicised by the media like never before.

Power and/or Money, will always cause boundaries to be tested. Add across this, an element of opportunity and things get blurred.

For example, look at these 2 questions:

    1) You find some money on the floor, outside a library. Do you a) pocket the cash, b) take it into the library and leave it for the rightful to claim or c) take it to a Police station. Now, what happens if the sum of money is £10 / £100 / £1,000 - does your answer change

    2) You go on holiday and your suitcase is lost. Do you a) put in a claim to the insurance company for the actual loss, b) add around 20%, assuming that they will try to negotiate your claim or c) double it as a minimum, as insurance companies are evil corporate bodies who deserved to get done big time.

If you've not answered c) (or maybe b) for the first and a) for the second, then are you any better than any other?

The frightening fact is that most people will do wrong, given the opportunity, when there is a reasonable chance of getting away with it. Fraud statistics show that around 10% of people would never do the wrong thing, 10% of people would always do the wrong thing and around 80% would do it, if it didn't seem too bad (e.g. the £100 and 20% inflated claim) if they thought they could get away with it.

Human nature is that people look for an advantage, even if the result of that is disadvantaging someone else.

    Fraud is committed due to:

    - Greed (wealthy)
    - Strain (poor/middle earners)

There's no point in blaming individuals or select groups, it's all a red herring, the real problem is the system.

Ridiculous. If what you suggest were true, all wealthy people would be at it due to greed & all poor/middle earners would be at it because of strain.
They are not though and it is therefore down to an individual's choice.

V.A.T AAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGG I'm having to move house and going through divorce settlement at same time and VAT is amounting to a huge mountain of money. Solicitors, estate agents, surveyors fees are bad enough without another ton of money on top. 20 ****ing percent I ask you where does that go !!!!

Not being a champagne drinker I had to look up the cost of this. I think with what I've shelled out somebody's had a case load of the stuff on my behalf.

That has made me feel so much better as I did see this week that MP's are struggliing with their pay and need so much more than the mere pittance they get at the moment.
I love this paragraph in particular:

Some argue a bigger salary would reduce the need for them to make such high use of the controversial expenses systems, claiming it became inflated because MPs have had their pay held down for so long.

It was taken from here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...0-MP-pay-rise-but-David-Cameron-wont-say.html but I don't advise anyone reading it until you have taken a chill pill first.

Most people would find alternative employ elsewhere if the money was **** but the pickings on expenses, cash for questions plus planning fiddles and fingers in other pies is the fact that they don't. All Mp's should be publicly flogged then burnt for the good they are. <ok>

Currently at Jersey airport waiting to fly to Southampton. Flight was meant to leave at 20.45... Now delayed until 22.30 and that time keeps rising... Absolute nightmare. Bored as ****. FlyBe didn't tell us it was delayed so we went through security at about 20.00.... What an absolute nightmare.... I have found the bar though!

No sympathy here, I've have (not by choice) moved home three times in the last 9 months. I'm living out of a single half cupboard and most of my stuff in storage in kennington watching the cricket. All I have is my laptop, foam mattress and my teddy bear.
