I thought that this is a thread that might be needed, especially since the decrease in activity on our board.

    The point of it is:>

To talk about an up and coming fixture, including:-Squad info.-Predictions.
To talk about a previous fixture (last game week etc)-How well we feel they played etc.

Please post your comments and any match day information you may have etc..

    Many Thanks

First point of discussion - Hull and Chelsea. Can we beat Hull, just like we did against Chelsea?

I think we are capable of beating Hull, the lads will take confidence from the last game, so yes.

Of course we can, IF all 11 pull their weight and they did that yesterday. It's a massive win for us and they should be full of confidence Vs Hull City. They are no pushovers, far from it but let's go and be positive.

And we have Leicester at HOME next Rd of the F.A.Cup. Let's hope their are tears in the Away end again. No reason why we should not win this game either. But credit to them they are doing very well, so far this season.

After beating Chelsea the confidence within the team should be high so they should be up for the challenge at Hull. Not easy though and, in true Potters fashion, we could come unstuck but let's not think like that. Then comes Man U in the league cup. At home we must have a chance and I woulf love us to get to the semis.

Hull look pretty good and are playing some half decent football, they remind me of us last season - getting results and playing well in patches - whilst still looking vunerable and unsteady at times. When they played the Swans they were neat and passed the ball well using the counter attack to good effect, but they did have patches when they got pinned back/deep and I think if we can keep the ball and control the game the longer it goes on the more unsettled they will become.

Having said that, I have no expectations and a draw wouldnt be a bad result.

I think the team will have to get at em and not sit back, we will need to disrupt their play as we will not want them to get into any rhythm we can beat them but a draw is more likely.

I've heard Begovic is a doubt for the game - I don't know whether to wish for the injury and hope it's not an impending transfer?

Defence is our strongest point, especially at home. We've only conceded 3 goals in 7 home matches. We've only dropped 4 points from winning positions (Cardiff and Swansea) and we defend/attack as a unit. We're a completely different side at home than we are away. We defend deep and counter attack away whereas we are a lot more positive and take the game to the opposition at home. You will have confidence from beating Chelsea, but we're on the back of a 3-1 win over Liverpool and a good point at the Liberty with a completely expected loss at the Emirates although we only conceded two and faired ourselves well.

We're in a really good position considering the team's we've had to play already this Season. We've had 8 of the top 10 away from home already (Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Swansea, Everton, Newcastle, Southampton and Tottenham) with Liverpool already played against at the KC and Manchester United coming on boxing day.

Sagbo is progressing well under the radar and IMO looks top class. There was an article posted on our board not long back explaining that his shot accuracy was 86% or something like that, and his hold up play, interplay, strength and intelligence is amazing. One to look out for definitely. Then we've got Huddlestone, Livermore and Meyler who control the midfield with Davies in the form of his life (been in the top 3 MOTM every game).

Will be a good game because Stoke will come looking to build on the Chelsea result so hopefully play attacking and play right into our hands as we play a lot better when a team attempts to attack against us.

This article sums us up pretty well IMO (recently done on SkySports):

Thanks for that Candy - an excellent insight - hope our management team reads it!

I think Bruce has done a pretty good job and your club had made some sound transfers to date. I think we are capable of beating you (on our day) but based on your form I will be more than happy with a point.

    Good Luck

It's a game that could go either way. If Brucey gets his team selection wrong (like he did at Crystal Palace and Southampton) then you are more than capable of beating us, but if we approach this game with the same tenacity and enthusiasm that we have throughout this Season, then we can definitely take 3 points.

I would take a draw, but I definitely think that Bruce will be aiming for 3 points. It'll be interesting to see how far Stoke's style of play has changed since Tony Pulis too. I'm looking forward to this game.

    Good luck to you guys.

I would imagine that you will note the change in style - although we do revert to type if under ongoing pressure - so this may play into your hands. We will retain possession better and break better as a unit with good midfield support, however we have been unable to convert this new philosphy into points as of yet.

I would be happy with a draw but if we try to get at them we might just be able to pinch it. Im hoping for another good performance.

Hoping we get an early goal to encourage a more open game otherwise we may just counteract each other.

I am not sure that Soro is still good enough to be adequate cover for Bego.
