Son and Wanyama are available That means tighter at the back and more free flowing up top I got this down as a 2-2 then changed it to 2-1 Toon because I don't like to tempt fate...then went 2-2....currently stuck at 0-1 Spurs Don't know
Mate you may have some good players missing - but at least you have good players. All common sense suggests a thrashing for ourselves. However your recent record at St James isn't fantastic so there is a beacon of hope.
as always on the first day of the season nervously optimistic 44th season and still fighting fit howay the lads
Wonder how the atmosphere will be. Championship team with no real strengthening (or money) vs 2nd best in County. Will the crowd cut them slack if it's a one-sided affair? Or is expectation (unrealistically) sky high?
I've heard Ashley's Guna give spurs a chance by signing Sissoko for 5 pence before the game and putting him in our team!
Am looking forward to seeing a different Newcastle to the one that was last in the Premier League. On paper this side is weaker than the side that got relegated but am hoping they are much better organised and there are more players who dont switch off if we go down and continue putting in 100%. We had a habit of going behind early and being out of the game from then. Hope that has changed. Dont mind if we get beaten - just want to see us being competitive and not conceding easy goals. Looking forward to this season and actually think we can get some points on the board today.
Looked at the line-ups, we're weaker in almost every single department than Spurs! Elliot; Manquillo, Lejeune, Clark, Dummett; Hayden, Shelvey; Atsu, Perez, RItchie, Gayle. Lloris; Walker-Peters, Aldereiweld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dembele, Dier; Erikson, Alli, Sissoko; Kane.
