People only remember Churchill for his WW2 activities. Apart from that, he was a pure barsteward, and not to be listened to. Anyone who gets British troops to fire on British workers should get shot - and so should he have.

Going by what you wrote Olof, someone didn't like Churchill, probably a lefty who doesn't like any of our leaders, and doing what Churchill stated in the above pic.

Whatever people think of Churchill, he's the reason we're not frog marching around saluting a crooked cross that looks like a broken window frame.

Churchill was the one that stood up to, and defied the so called might of Hitler's war machine. Churchill also convinced Hitler to turn some of his troops towards the Russian front and Russia, knowing they were ill equipped and not trained for arctic conditions, thus saving most of Europe from German or Russian rule. Merkel's trying the same thing now.

Hitler said of Churchill, "with my forces and your brains, we can take the world"......not sure of the exact wording.

Totally understand Olof, wasn't having a crack at you for agreeing with someone else's put down of Churchill. I and others see Churchill differently, all leaders have flaws, even the best of them, my point was, Churchill was defiant of Hitler, Hitler did taunt Churchill before the war, and as I mentioned, this is the man who gave this country, and Europe freedom from Nazi rule.

He didn't always spend his time in bunkers, he had numerous attempts on his life, a few by Nazis, and had a lookalike stand in

I don't dispute he had his bad side, all leaders and most politicians do, but in these type of instances should also be recognised for their good deeds, and he's down in history for what he achieved during ww2.

Is there a leader anywhere in the world that didn't have a bad side, or didn't have negatives written about them.
