From the drama in Baku to the orderly race in Austria...Bottas' upturn in performance silently introduced him into the championship fight. Now only 15 points behind Lewis, what will Mercedes make of this? A lot of head-scratching to do.
Elsewhere Sebastian stretched his legs with regards to the title fight, and Ricciardo continued to spearhead Redbull back to the top.
Williams turned their poor qualifying performance into a respectable double points finish, and Grosjean (Mr. Brakes) left delighted with his cars performance unlike his teammate.
Kvyat caused problems at the back running into the Mclaren and Redbull, surely Toro Rosso must be thinking about other options...
Wehrlein impressed beating his teammate after starting from the pits.

Can't really see past Hamilton here, imagine the spectator response if Seb takes it.

I feel a Hamilton walk over coming here. Ferrari have been a bit off lately (since the oil burn clarification?) and after two unfortunate weekends out of his hands Hamilton has something extra to prove.

Hopefully it'll be a ding dong battle, maybe some classic British summer weather :)

yeah, about time we had a wet race.
Hard to see past Hamilton here, but I'll wait until qualifying before I make my decision, anything could happen

It is being reported that Silverstone have activated their break clause! I wonder how the negotiations will go? I do hope we keep a proper GP in the UK not some silly street race. There are too many street type races that have very limited overtaking opportunities.

Pretty sure they'll negotiate a contract that doesn't kill them financially.

How about no F1 cars at all? Just busses and black cabs? Serious cost savings there!

Imo Hamilton will be on pole if he stops whining as he seems to have to do every year at least once.

Once on pole then the race is his to control if he gets through first corner.

Ferrari will be strong too though

Got a feeling RBR might go well this weekend, but will obviously be reliant upon an underperforming Merc/Ferrari to get a win. Think they'll be closer this weekend though than they have for most of the season.

Can't say i know enough on the Silverstone issue but the if it is the case that it's simply not cost efficient, who can blame them?

Hoping Liberty can have a sit down with them and understand how to make it work for everyone.

the contract seemed to maybe have a clause catering for initial investment but f1 then said right after that we will get more and more and more with each year so it was ok... the track got a bit of upgrade but after that the organisers are running it to break even at best and f1 creams it.

    basically... can't keep it up

i see there is a story that hamilton is "snubbing" the london gig against merc wishes... i wonder how accurate that is

he seems in another sulk.. which seems par for the course at least once a year. He's a very bad chaser... he seems to need to be out front to be happy.
