Sky sources saying he is out for the season.

    No Stockholm final for him

    And will Rashford be enough?

In the words of SAF its squeaky bum time

    Too right it is.

As long as Rooney, Pogba and Martial step up we should be ok.

Big shame though as we'll miss Zlatan for definite.

My eldest will be gutted, I'm taking him to the Palace game and he was looking forward to seeing the big man play.

Zlatan may be greatly missed by United. But we will need to wait to find out. One or two matches are not enough evidence to show that Rashford will be enough. No doubt that Zlatan has provided most of United s goals. But paradoxically the stats show that United score more goals and win more without him than with him. Of course, stats should be looked at with caution but it need not be the disaster that some are predicting. For me, the last two matches have shown that there are pros and cons to having him in the team.

Rooney for me is finished and has been for a bit IMO.

Rashford is an exciting talent but doesn't have enough in his locker for Burnley type teams where a bus is parked. I dont see him as a Jose type player as he likes the ball to feet and run rather than power to hold up play

Martial has become an enigma under Jose, who is doing what no one knows.

Have to say am getting a bit nervous

News on Zlatan is it's a double ligament tear, he has done ACL and PCL

Bad news, but to be honest I think we don't need him. Rashford came in last season and played against all manner of teams - bus parkers, muggers - and he played brilliantly, I expect the same of him this season, plus he has had the benefit of watching and learning from Zlatan in addition to which we have Mikki who I think will be more inclined to go for goal rather than find a pass to the big man, which I noticed last night he did quite a few times when there were better options.

Reports he may be out for 8-9 months, which may well end his career at the top level if true.

Imo his influence on the team has been like that of RVN's. A top class striker who always gets goals and has a huge hunger to score and win, but also someone who tends to draw the attacking focus of the team on to himself, which isn't always great for results.

Hopefully if he does leave it will enable Martial and Rashford to step up the same way Rooney and Ronnie did after RVN went, but I reckon we will definitely go big for Griezmann if Zlat is definitely out long term.

Disaster is a massive exaggeration, no idea where you got that from.

Who would you rather though, an available Zlatan or a by now half arsed Rooney? It's not good news that Zlatan's season is over but it might just turn out ok.

The likes of Martial and Pogba now really need to chip in, as does Mkhi in league games.
Regardless of whether Zlatan is actually the problem, and I agree to an extent he is, you can't avoid the fact that it's now our two top sources of goals who are both missing for the rest of the season.

I can agree with that. I was referring to the sensationalist press when talking about disaster. Of course it's better to be with him available but imo JM has to use him more effectively.

Got to be honest, I don't listen to or read sensationalist press so couldn't really give a monkeys.
People like Adrian Durham are just parodies.

Quite the opposite imo. It's Zlatan who doesnt have enough in his locker for a team that sits back. We have two problems. Firstly that he becomes the focal point and is slow, and therefore easier to defend against when you have two banks of 4 sat back. Secondly when we DO draw the opposition defence out our football isn't pacey enough with him in the side to play either on the counter attack OR simply pass forward quickly enough to get in the space behind the defence.

In fact the likes of Rashford and Martial and Lingard and Mkhytarian and Young have demonstrated they can do just that! I've always said that when Ibrah isnt scoring he's often doing little else. His passing and possession play in the final third is exasperating at times.

I also feel that we've all said that Rashford and Martial are the future and Zlatan shouldnt take that chance away from them. Well if we truly believe that, now's their chance and lets have some faith in them. IF they're not quite good enough at this stage to see it through who cares, the experience of playing in the business end (run in) of a season where we're playing for a high league position and a European trophy will be far more beneficial to them and the club in the long run.
