I agree completely. I just wanna add, I totally love how he dealt with questions about our players, other clubs, and contracts. "Come to the training ground go and knock no Levy's door. Speak to Daniel Levy!" All said with a smirk. Perfect. In Poch I trust.
Chelsea's preparations for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham have been severely disrupted by their England defender Gary Cahill, 31, spending two nights in hospital with a mystery illness. (Telegraph) Cahill's absence could pave the way for club captain Terry to make a rare start at Wembley just days after it was announced he was leaving the Blues. (Sun) Not that we needed any extra motivation to win, but the thought of John Terry looking like a deer in the headlights in his last-ever appearance on the Wembley pitch as we leave him on his backside for ninety minutes has certainly given us extra...
Was thinking the same chelski will have 2 of the biggest ever c*nts on the pitch in Costa and terry we shouldn't need motivating for this game .
Right I have done my bit for tomorrow. I have stuck £40 on Chelsea to win. When I bet against Spurs, usually I lose money. I would happily pay £40 for us to win tomorrow! And if we lose the return is £105 so it pays for a night out so I can drown my sorrows! This is how I manage my expectations watching Spurs!
It has a bit! Only time I won was when Chelsea played us at the bridge and I put a bet on when we were 1-0 up. I only bet for the matches I really care about though and the ones I would be really gutted to lose. Let's hope I'm £40 down tomorrow night!
Great logic, although losing £40 would take the edge of winning for me. It's hard to win money betting on football, although some of the spot-on predictions in the Spurs Prediction League would pay around £1,000 for a £10 stake if you can get the correct score and goalscorers in a 4-0 or 4-1. I only risk money on the Grand National as it's a tradition. When Auroras Encore won the National at 66/1 a few years ago, I intended to put the whole of our usual family £20 on it to win as Channel 4 had been banging on about it endlessly. I was talked out of it in favour of a series of a number of small each way bets on some lame nags. Still not forgiven
I get what you are saying and If I was a Man Utd fan then I wouldn't do it given all the success you have had over the last couple of decades. Losing an FA cup semi final isn't that devastating to you. When you are a Spurs fan and have won f*ck all of note for 26 years then the caveat of losing £40 is more than made up by the fact we have beaten one of our biggest rivals to get to the FA cup final, a final we haven't been in for 26 years. Also bear in mind we have lost our last 6 FA cup semis including losing to Chelsea twice in that time!
The secret of Pochettino's success? Intelligence and supreme attention to detail. It shows in every thing I have seen him do.
Just wondering. Anyone else in Block 519 tomorrow? Let me know if you feel like saying hi. Cheers. COYS!!!!!
It's often been said that Spurs can't compete because of financial inferiority in the transfer and wages market. But you are proving that good scouting, shrewd transfer business, good youth development and a manager who is a savvy coach and tactician is more than a match for a big cheque book. Pochettino needs to win trophies whilst this perfect storm continues - because it won't last. The advantages the bigger money clubs have will tell sooner rather than later. We commented at the start of the season on how transitional periods would affect Chelsea, City, Utd and Liverpool with new managers. As expected, they have all been up and down, except the former who have thrived under Conte.
Strangely l have a reluctant confidence. Poch has been magnificent and his team is purring style and excellence. Usually l would be in trepidation . The Chav forums are surprisingly less chirpy and fear us . It's amazing the turn round and considering all their dodgy cash , we have a better first 11 . Anyhow good luck to all going and show them what a real fan base is , not a wall of plastic tourists . Every one watching at home let's hope we can enjoy it . God bless Sid
Not sure that trophies are as necessary as ensuring for every 2009-10 PL / 2010-11 CL season, Spurs don't have to wait 6 years (for whatever reasons) before the next ones occur. What is comforting is that the margins of error for the usual suspects is getting finer by the season. You remotely eff-up your choice of manager, signings etc and your hopes of CL next season are gone.
