You can't compare Costa to Suarez.

Plenty of players walk the fine line, plenty dive, plenty wind up opposition, plenty snarl their way through games. No one other than Suarez has been banned 3 times for biting.

Suarez is the king of ****s. No one comes close.

So you're saying that Costa is Suarez minus the biting and occasional racism? Sounds about right.
He's a dickhead and he should probably get sent off in virtually every game that he plays in.
At least you know he's trying all the time, though.

I have no problem with Costa acting the dickhead. There have always been players that do that. It's not new.
It annoys me that he gets away with it. The same was true of Suarez.
They get away with murder, despite making no attempt to obscure what they're doing.

Suarez spent a ridiculous amount of his time in England banned, but he was never sent off.

What exactly is he getting away with? If he was breaking any laws of the game the fa would soon ban him retrospectively like they did with Suarez. He's a wind up and gets involved tussling with defenders more than most. But nothing particularly wrong with it, just frustrates the opposition. I can see why you don't like him but it's hardly the biting, constant diving, racism issue etc that Suarez was rightfully vilified for.

Suarez often avoided red cards and retroactive action, too. It's utterly dependent on the media.
They both constantly foul defenders off the ball, dive, lead with the arm, pinch, tug hair and all manner of other underhand ****.
It's ignored because it often takes place away from the spotlight.

Some of it's blatant, but the media see it as the pillocks having character, so they play it down:

    Apologies for the awful music.
Clearly just kicks Dawson for no apparent reason, having fouled him.
What happened? Nothing. Ref saw it, supposedly. Should be a very pointless red.
Now if that were Joey Barton or Lee Cattermole...
