Scott Parker scored two absolute belters for Charlton at St Marys on one occasion. For some reason, normally mediocre players have a habit of playing their one truly brilliant game against us. Kieran Dier is another who springs to mind, ripped us apart when Newcastle dumped us out the FA Cup 4-1, then went back to being generally a bit crap.

I thought Scott Parker was a good, solid player.

Not absolute top level but a mid-table midfielder capable of occasionally better than that.

He was absolutely vital for us when he came. Wish we had him when he was younger.

Parker was exactly what we needed at the time and every squad can do with a player like him.
Extremely hardworking and professional, read the game very well and helped to control the midfield very well.
We're still reaping the rewards for having him at the club, as his influence on Harry Winks is clear.

It's the ****ty Fail, but it gives a good insight into the kind of person Parker is behind the scenes, I think:

A player we had who I never rated was Silvestre. An accident waiting to happen and it frequently did.

The bigger accident was Wenger signing him after he was past his average best at Utd <doh>

Scott Parker was a cracking player and as mentioned, if you could have got him a few years earlier I think he would have gone on to become one of your best midfielders in a while. It's a bit like us with David Platt (although he was more attacking) Great player, joined us just a bit late in his career though.

Thought I would search out the goal

But suggested after was, in my opinion, the greatest free kick ever

    Enjoy.

In a bar in France. The locals wondered why I was so pleased. I was delighted to enlighten them

Based on the OP I was referring to his move to Chavbus. Sold his soul to sit on a bench then fcked off when he realised he hadnt "arrived".
