I understood Merc had a shark fin in reserve but didn't use it at their "filming day". Either way, it's not hard to nail a bit of plywood to the top of the engine cover.
Very true. Manor used plywood to mock up their 2017 challenger as their budget was so tight.......... please log in to view this image
I have a feeling red bull might challenge. They were the closest to merc last year and made them sweat. Now the Renault is aparently much better we could have a championship. Mclaren are also a big unknown. I'm not sure on Ferrari. They could be anywhere. Something is telling me they are a mess and could have a bad year. But who knows. Bring on testing and look out for balancing issues with cars not times
I want multiple winners and a championship that goes down to the wire with multiple contenders. Really need an antidote for the last few seasons. Badly!
Toro rosso looks better than the main car. I wonder if that mercedes front suspension system allows them to remove the shark fin? It seems to widen out the frint end for aero flow and perhaps that negates the need for massive fin to stabilise air flow to rear wing thats now lower.
I'm all for promoting female talent into the sport, but this has to be a clear case of money over talent. Is very hard to find anything to get remotely excited about in her CV to date. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatiana_Calderón Far far more deserving drivers out there who will miss out on an opportunity like this.
yup. her relative position in terms of race results don't indicate she should be in an f1 car for development... but sauber need the money ...
The first FIA scalp is Renault. Their rear wing support is not in a grey enough area so needs changing.
That sounds like a simple mistake to make. At least it was flagged before any racing. Nothing worse than having to wait hrs to find out who actually 'won' a race because someone protested something technical after a race.
