There's fit and being match fit. So many players and managers say how important a good preseason is. There's no rush.
This^ I can understand why people are eager to see him, he's a cracking player, but we'd be unlikely to see him at his best coming back so late in the season anyway.
If he is in the doctors eyes fit enough to play before the end of the season, I suspect that if at some point we are safe by the last couple of games he might get on for some minutes off the bench.
It took Snodgrass a season and a bit to get back up to playing speed... Throwing Moses in at this stage would be folly...
With any long term injury apart from the injury itself there is sometimes that bit of doubt in the mind until its fully tested so if he does get the chance then it may do him some good to play this season but its up to the medics. The other problem is getting up to speed, been 100% and ready for a relegation battle because when you have been out for so long it can't be easy. The best solution for us and him would be for city to be safe with a couple of games to go and the medics giving him the all clear to play.
Circumstances will dictate. If we need him we will use him. If we are safe perhaps not. But what if his contract has a clause about PL starts trigger something. Who knows. Pointless thread really.
To be fair - Some of the people on here are probably better than our medical staff. Or more recent medical staff. Our track record of bringing players back too early for them to break down and spend longer on the sidelines wasn't an unusual occurrence, it seemed almost the norm.
That does seem to be the case, but it must be bad luck surely. It's hard to believe that these guys have just called it completely wrong. It's their job to be cautious, so if they're deemed fit to play I'm sure it's because they're absolutely confident that there's no more risk than with any player in any game.
Still don't understand how people struggle with his name... when you look at the spelling it's phonetically easier to say than... Markovic Grosicki Jakupovic Maguire N'Diaye Rannochia Meyler Elabdellaoui To me, the difficulty of Odubajo's name is on par with Elmohamady.
I think there's a blurred line about what is being considered fit. Match fit and healthy are two different things.
Not in professional circles there isn't. I think it's a point too over thought; they'll rehabilitate him, they'll get him fit and start giving him game time. They'll do that as soon as they can and get him back into the mainstream dressing room.
The Snodgrass who came back in the championship was nothing like the Snodgrass who played this season. Coming back in the PL...nah not worth it for him or us.
I'm not sure - it did seem a specific problem under Bruce. Not sure if we have the same medical staff here under Marco? It was however a seemingly continuous issue, I'm sure bad luck played a small part, but I suspect rushing players back far too early was the main contributor.
