The Ginger Iniesta says it was his best goal, but the goal he scored away at Palace I think tops that.

Think you could be right SuperBri - arguably better technique and the goalie didn't fall over

Ian Holloway QPR manager. Bit relieved as I thought Hodgson & Lewington might have been tempted.

The Championship is really hotting up, what with Colin at Cardiff and now Ollie at QPR. Like you SuperBri, the thought did cross my mind that Roy and Lew might be offered big bucks to go there but I never really believed they be tempted while the behind the scenes shambles persisted. And in fact, lessened all the more when I saw Ed Balls had invited Roy to sit in the Norwich VIP section last week.

On another management front, I hear tell that Martin Jol has taken over at Wolfsburg. Wasn't that Magath's old stomping ground? Only one comment to make :emoticon-0159-music Oh Bobby, Bobby Zamora :emoticon-0159-music

Very strange indeed. There must be more to it with Wagner. Definitely got Huddersfield punching above their weight.

Sky Sport are saying that Hearts have offered Aaron Hughes a contract until the end of the season.

"The defender is a free agent after his contract with Kerala Blasters expired. The 37 year old is expected to accept the offer and the deal could go through tomorrow."

Meanwhile Emerson Hyndman, who played the first 56 minutes of Bournemouth's cup defeat on Saturday, was spotted getting on a plane to Glasgow.

The Scottish Sun say he's up there to discuss "a switch" to Rangers.

Hyndman may well be looking at the success and attention Dembele and Roberts are getting in Scotland.

Honestly, he would have been better off staying with us. With the style we are playing this season, he would have thrived.

The Dark Side have had approval from Hammersmith and Fulham Council to build a new 60,000 capacity ground at Stamford Bridge. Doubt if we'll be in talks about a ground share like in the past so at least it'll get them out of the Borough for 3 years.

Dubbed the 'cathedral', the planners obviously didn't give consent on aesthetic appeal and blending in with the area.

You know, as each game goes by, I really start to think that we absolutely mugged Cardiff with the Malone-Richards deal. Can anyone think of a more one-sided transfer?

Hard to beat. The only instance of a swap I can think of in the immediate past was 2 for 1 - Konchesky going to Liverpoll in exchange for Kacaniklic and the Dalla Valle fellow. Arguably that one ended even steven.

Does anyone know if we are still under some FFP restrictions ?
Forest were just warned that they had handed their accounts in after Jan 1st on the last session of their FFP punishment, and as far as I know we were given our punishment at the same time and I thought something said about a 3 year period that you couldn't fall foul again. I know they changed the rules since we were sanctioned but think we have to abide by the old rules.

Doubt it Craving. Reckon I'm in the 'Confused of Fulham' camp. But hey ho, in for a penny ..

One difficulty in understanding has been the time lag. We were hit for the accounts in season 2014/15 when the rules said that any loss over £8m in a year was in breach. We over-stepped that red line by a tiny amount. Consequently a transfer ban was imposed for the January 2016 window. Presumably based on our accounts for season 2015/16 that was lifted and we were able to operate normally from the summer of 2016 window.

Another difficulty has been the fluidity of interpretation of the rules. Partly to overcome that but primarily to bring Championship clubs in line with those in the Premiership, it's all change (again). Avoiding in future, for instance, the ridiculous stand off with QPR (hopefully). It's got a new name as well by the way - it's now referred to as "Profit and Sustainability" rules.

    The key changes are:

    * The assessment is carried out in March (rather than December)
    * The maximum loss limit is now £13m per Championship season (or £5m a season if the owner does not inject equity to cover losses)
    * Losses are assessed over three seasons (rather than just over the single, previous season)
    * The assessment of each club’s finances is a combination of a historic assessment (looking at figures for the two previous completed season) and an assessment over the season currently taking place

The last point is fairly significant in Fulham's case. It means that on March 1st 2017 we MUST submit historic accounts for 2014/15 plus historic accounts for 2015/16 plus projected accounts for 2016/17. And here's where it gets tricky, because the second point comes into play. A loss averaging £13m per season ie £39m in total over the 3 years would fine but only IF the owner put in £8m of his own equity into the club in each year. If he didn't then the line is drawn at £5m per season ie a total of £15m.

I'm not aware of Mr Khan injecting that sort of money - stuff like the development of Motspur Park, youth development in general, the Fulham Foundation and so on are all excluded. Basically the rule is all about transfers and first team wages. However, even if it is £5m per season, the sale of Roberts and McCormack will (I'm guessing) keep us under the line for 2015/16 and 2016/7 respectively but that default season of 2014/15 could come back and bite us on the bum again.

PS With the new rules come new sanctions. Transfers bans and fines can still be imposed but a points deduction and/or a bar from play offs is now possible. By setting a deadline date of 1st March the powers that be intend to apply any sanctions before the end of the current season.

Thanks C58. The only hope we have is that our accountants understand the complexity and have got it right this time.
I'm of opinion that we still have some restriction on what can be spent this transfer window to not overspend, may be due to our varying attendance figures no one can be sure where the line can be drawn for us to keep under, whereas Newcastle or a Villa have a greater leeway.

Surely, if we've served our sentence for 2014/15 they can't include it retrospectively again? That seems harsh!

Harsh but true. Suppose we might get a more lenient sentence (if guilty, that is).

Mark Fotheringham lays it on a plate for Emerson Hyndman tonight.

That's the young man's second goal in two for Rangers.
