The RS eternal problem is that they never seem to have strength in depth - they can put out a good first team, but beyond that their squad has always been poor. That weakness comes shining through whenever they have a spate of injuries or lose players to tournaments
That's nonsense, we have looked a different team all season. If anything there is overreation to our recent blip, you had one yourself early doors. If we miss anyone it's Coutinho and also Matip, both are due back this weekend.
Have to say I feel the same. Could even be by a couple of goals either way imo. All about whose attack clicks or whose defence has a mare. I do feel our inability to be more clinical in front of goal will make or break us in this game.
You are the most pessimistic person on the entire forum though. We should win. Though they should feel it's a game they should win. We've been in good form, though really not played anyone half decent during it. We beat Spurs but they were having a mare at the time. We are more than capable of winning this and losing it. I just hope and prey mourinho doesn't do something stupid like start fellani. I'd accept any team selection so long as fellani doesn't start. I'd like to see mata start. Basically I agree with @Chief team selection.
King Shergar is a pessimist, and Cytrax the fanboy. I'm more of a realist. I've never doubted we should win this game, but I do feel we are yet to really gel as a team. There's real progress but it's not the finished article. I still don't see the confidence in our forwards... that may be a hangover from LVG, who knows. But I'll happily take the goals we score any way they come on sunday.
Mm. More of a Fergie fan and a critic of anyone not playing his style ? This is a real test for JM. Almost a milestone. Beating non top 6 teams is one thing but this match against a rival will really indicate whether he is on track. A draw at home will simply not be good enough. We should have got all 3 points against Arsenal. We deservedly lost against City and Chelsea but we were in a different place then.
Why should he doubt it? Don't turn into a Billy big bollocks Spurs fan RHC! My guess would be that he thinks United should win because they are at home, they have a great tactical manager who knows how to slow down a game and kill rhythm and Liverpool have shown they are vulnerable at the back. I think if United's defenders do not make any stupid errors (a big ask I know), then they can take the points.
I think we'll win as we are clearly on the up. We've had good run but that's not the end of it, we're slap bang in the middle of it and only getting better and more confident. You can feel it about the whole place, the crowd is optimistic and up for it, the polar opposite to under van Gaal, and the team is at it. Zlatan and Carrick will both return on Sunday and both have the bollocks and experience to run the game and make sure we win it. Our weaknesses are indeed at centre half, mainly because a pair still hasn't been formed due to injuries and ACON, and their strength is attack, and by that I mean Coutinho, Firminho and Lallana not Sturridge, so they could well score but we have the players to score more. Shouldn't we be having these discussion Matth's magnificent match thread?
Spurs fans, dont be like one. They win a few games and think they have the best team in the world and everyone will crumble before their gayness. Its just you almost seem gobsmacked and insulted that Treb thinks his team can win the game
