http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/neil-warnock-given-jonny-hayes-12438293 Aberdeen turn down Jonny Hayes £500,000 bid saying the player is NOT for sale.
Can't say I'm overly positive about the signing of a 29 year old winger from the Scottish league but I thought that the Scottish clubs were hardly in the position to turn down cash? Might be for the best - but imagine we'll up our bid.
*Sparky* tried that one.. Jay showed him the door . From what I've heard about Hayes, he's a very good player. I know it's a different story up there, but people who I know who watch that dross have said he's a very good player with a mean left foot. I imagine we'll go to £750,000 and if that's rejected £1,000,000.
Unless they're happy to be released and become "free agents" or we pay them off, we need to find someone who wants to take them on and after last Sunday's performance that could be quite a short queue.
I know Bennett got stuffed twice by Fredericks for Fulham's 2 goals but surely that threat should have been recognised and our left midfield should have given extra cover - not leaving Bennett isolated. (Look at the way our opponents always double tap Noone). This situation has always been a bit of an issue for us at left back whether it was Taylor, Malone, Declan or further back to Capaldi, Naylor and Kennedy. The left back always seems a bit more attack orientated and as a result tends to get exposed. I'm not unhappy with the lad and wouldn't want to see him go. But who was left midfield? Was it not Huws? I've expressed my opinion of him before. I don't know what he is supposed to be, as he doesn't fit any traditional midfield roles unless they include being slow, not tackling and not giving cover to his defenders!!! Richards was never going to work after his non-Ayatollah moment. Others who could go: - Kennedy Pilkington - might get some money back there - he appears to have come to the end of his useful time with us Manga - although despite what I've said about him in the past, he has performed well in the 3 centre back formation and had some good games while Bamba was suspended - he is likely to be the main source of any incoming transfer fee Guonongbe - Gonzo for sake of ease - never recovered from that glaring miss at Birmingham Ajayi - a bit unfair as we have never seen what he can do - perhaps Colin has and that is why he never gets a kick Apart from another one or two youngsters whose names escape me, anyone else?
cannot see us getting rid of Bamba !! Pilks, Declan, Fred, and maybe el noonio could be packing thier bags. We desperately need a back up striker as Lambert looks a tad over the hill for me.
It was Manga on my list Ronny, not Bamba. I just mentioned him in passing in the line on Manga. Good point on Lambert. Either he is carrying an injury or he has just lost the plot - while taking the money!!!! Noonie could go if another winger comes in and, yes, Declan could go as well. I thought he might be given to the end of the season but as he hasn't been in Colin's plans then he could well leave.
Well, the new keeper has arrived, just not in the way we thought: - http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...welsh-international-goalkeeper-joins-12441810 Welcome back Andy!!!
Not a player, but Andy Dibble has just become our new goal keeping coach ...... ......from Rotherham funnily enough.
Looks like we are serious about this one but need to up the ante to get him: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38584813
