Quite a worrying article about pub closures in Norwich - http://www.edp24.co.uk/property/the...tion_to_stop_more_vanishing_in_2017_1_4830301
Yes indeed. When I travel in by bus, I go past the Firs (Tesco), the Falcon (Co-op), The Magpie (boarded up), the Cat & Fiddle (good riddance!) and what used to be Hunter's squash club and Fat Pauly's, both redeveloped and unrecognisable. I used to manage the Branford Arms for the best part of a year and the Cygnet (RIP) was just around the corner - and a total dive
That's a shockingly long list of closures. I can't believe how many of those I've been in over the years, and how many I didn't know had closed.
Now in the Glasshouse having a pint of Edinburgh Castle - much darker than I usually drink, but very nice. ☺
Just back from E. Runton Fishing Boat, pleasant walk there and back, several turnstones and oystercatchers on Cromer carnival field helped And Woodfordes 'Tundra' (blonde, 4.6%) at £2.50 a pint helped the general ambiance
We went into the White Hart in Hingham the other day. Girlfriend took me there a couple of years ago for a Birthday meal, and was fantastic. We popped in for a lunch the other weekend. Again, food was stunning!! They also have local ales on tap, lovely looking place inside. Looks nothing from the outside, but I highly recommend.

In case any beer drinkers were unaware, NORWICH is hosting the CAMRA Winter Ale Festival for the next 3 years. Some REALLY interesting ales on offer. https://nwaf.org.uk/
Had a fantastic night at the National Winter Ale Festival last night and can definitely recommend it for those who are able to go. I really enjoyed some of the new beers from Woodfordes and Audit from Lacons (it's 8% ABV!!). There are some new beers in the foreign beers marquee as well that are well worth trying.
